Hurricane Rosa

I am so jealous! There has been !!!! surf for weeks and now that I am traveling the surf is picking up! My friend even found a nice 14k at our (better) local beach. I brought my metal detector with me to Ibiza, Spain. It is a major party/flashy island. Lots of gold and luxary watches. I just did not feel comfortable detecting in the day and at night it was too shady. Shady to the extent that my friends watch & iphone got taken from him. Luckily we were faster runners than the Persian guy and were able to outrum him, get him in a chokehold, and get our stuff back....I cannot wait to get back and do some detecting.

Metal detecting, drinking more rum than a Persian, chokeholds and getting your stuff back? What could be more fun than that?! Why would you be jealous??

I was in town for work and met friends on some socal beaches. found some cuts but surprisinly not a lot of heavy targets. I was only one without silver or gold. gold was light 1-2 gram items. Still great for them to get gold. some crusty clad ($3) with dimes the most found as lighter targets were the norm. even with lower tide sneaker waves would drive you up the slope. wish I could get out all this week. But darn client meetings in the way. I was happy to get out swining on the beach and spend time with friends

Got the picture from Romy this morning.. DANG brotha.. Another score....As for me, 3 days with zilch.... Last night I literally spent 4 hrs and I got 1 quarter and 4 dimes... It was rather pathetic...And I wasn't about to get in the water where I was... Little 2 foot power surges that would knock you down, steal your wallet and insult your momma. So tempting to walk the low tide out.. Then RUN your tail off as the water came plowing in to bash in your skull.... Fun watching the drunks though....:laughing:
Well the storm tore up a section of beach I didn't think would be good but fellow forum member compass called and asked if I would like to join him for a low tide hunt in a area he had scoped out earlier that day and said it has some promise. Well about half a hr in I got hit by a wave and she stole my pinpointer right out of my pouch  with the force of the waves ughhhhh it scared the hell outta me but I kept pushing it like a dummy, anyways after that I was a little burned until very low on the slope I got a solid 1 2 signal from the nox and I knew it was in a area that it couldn't be aluminum ;) and sure enough boom my biggest gold to date. All thanks to compass the nicest guy I know .

Thanks Romy but I won't lie to you- I would have loved to have found that chain myself but, since it wasn't me, I can't think of a more deserving person other than yourself. I mean, it was late, it was very dark, the surf was relentless and you weren't feeling all that well- that type of determination needs to be rewarded...and it was!
