So Lejeuene, hows that DFX working for you? I guess you don't have much time on it since being on this forum...

Actually Bob...the DFX is great....love it.....the last couple of times I have been out I couldn't detect too long due to my arm hurting like all get out. The pain is in my elbow....wondering if it is the weight....or am I just a weakling??? I am gonna let my arm rest a couple of weeks and try again, but next time I am going to shorten it to see if that helps...but I am still great at digging pull tabs and clad....the best.....ha!

Someone's gotta put a stop to these shenanagens.

shenanagens - hmmmm - is that kinda like whirled peas? :?:

Please no more whirled peas.....stop it.....stop it....just stop..... :(

Lejeuene

Are you using your arm strap when you use the detector? If not it does take some of the weight of the detector off your arm when swinging. I never used to use it until my arm started to ache... now I use it all the time and my swinging arm doesn't hurt anymore... Now my digging arm kills me but its because I use the big beach scoop and there is noway around that :)

Lejeuene, how are you gonna shorten your arm :?: :?: :?:

You know, this makes 20 pages now........what are we shooting for. And if 20 pages doesn't create whirled peas, I don't know what does. Oh, I'm sorry.....No more whirled peas.

Yes, I do use the strap. I even went to the doctor because I thought I had tennis elbow or tunnel corprel (spelling???) in the wrist. He said I had neither :?: :?:. He told me to let it rest for a while. Like I mentioned I am wondering if it is the weight of the DFX. I had a cheap BH prior but the DFX doesn't seem much difference in weight. I will try to shorten the length of the detector next time. My husband has it extended all the way out.

It was funny about the doctor visit because he has an MD and was questioning me left and right about MD'ing....he said he just had no time for it. He sure was questioning the wrong person to get tidbits...lol.

BTW - Your arm was probably hurting because of all those rings you dig up....ha! I can't wait to go to the beach to try what you mentioned to me. Good luck on your future hunts.

You might want to check into getting a sling that goes around you and takes the weight off your arm... I know a few of the "old geezers" on the forum use them

Ooooh Don.....my aren't we witty these days.... :P :P. The way it was hurting I wish I could have shortened it....lol. I think a little nub just above the elbow would have felt better.....no, I shouldn't say that.

20 pages.....think it is time for a new thread?? :?: I sure don't want to discuss whirled peas by any means so maybe it is time. You see what you started Don?? You see???? Geeeezz........

How does this sling work? Does it go around the waist? Where is the weight transferred to?
