congrats on the silver find, I check the machine also whenever I'm in the store and to date have found only Bus Tokens and unexplained perfectly looking clad change, one time about 80 cents.

Very true. I stumbled on a nice treasure of sorts that will probably bring me a few hundred or so in gift cards. Simple to do and I hope this works out. Sadly, like finding a good hunt spot, the only way you keep it for yourself is to not tell anybody.

DirtyRob is very correct, treasure is everywhere. You just need to keep your eyes open and your brain sharp.

As for CoinStar, they have a prompt on the screen telling you to check the reject bin below for any rejected coins. Another reason I hate CoinStar.

The very next day after I heard about coinstar's, I got a 1964 dime . In the last year, I got two silver dimes, and a 1971 Kennedy Half Dollar in the reject slot. I always check. My X wife gave me a Canadian quarter she found in the reject slot. I also get mexican coins too. I love coinstar's.
