Wa is the first two letters of my name, Wayne
Mi is the first two letters of my wife's name, Michelle

We came up with this about 15 years ago and use it on several websites as well as on our license plates, so if you see it anywhere else, it's probably us!

I have been going to the outer banks for 40 years. I know it as well as my home town.

Love the place although liked it more when it was not so crowded.

Can you MD in the beaches there? We usually stay south nags head..MP 18 area.

I mainly hunt my property and there is no build date on our deed and the oldest plat map I can find is from 1879 and our house is there. I keep trying to find the actual year, but seeming impossible. The main beams are all hand hewn, it is old!

How did I come up with crookedtoes? Oh yes... I guess it's because I have weird feet!! My third toe is longer than the second one, and some of the knuckles stick up.

Well, when I first started using computers (back in 1980) I was used to CB Radio "handles" . On CB I had been Lonely Only the California Cow.
Well, that was WAY too long to type out, and I settled for MomCat even though I'm not a Mom.

Then, after experiencing a bit of harassment (back then it was ALL guys!!) in 1988 I changed to Rat & Swan, keeping the animal motif and including my beloved (She's Rat, I'm Swan), then streamlined it to Swan (during the IRC Meow Wars) and have been Swan for a LONG time.

Realizing that Swan was no longer quite the handle I want, I thought about using GreyRat, but my Beloved still uses the Rat moniker, and then it hit me. Bird, grouchy, older and wiser (maybe. Jury's still out on that)... Sage Grouse which even ties in with my SouthWestern location, so
SageGrouse it is!
