At lunch I decided to take a ride over to a park nearby and found two Detectorists swinging. One of them is active on this forum. It was nice to put a face to the name. Unfortunately I am stuck here at work again, meanwhile I wish them luck out there in the beautiful weather...

Lol. Yeah it's beautiful outside. Of all the places I've been (so far) and all the digging Ive done I have yet to meet another guy with a detector with one exception, lake taconic where I got a permit last year and we were both put there at sunrise on "opening day" there. Lol. He was in the water I was on the beach, I got $25 plus in clad along with a junk chain, silver earing and a nice necklace bauble (and about six matchbox cars) he got s pocket full of costume jewelry but I bet there was some good stuff too. Me t day I got a gold ring he missed in the water. Sweet!

Yeah, I'm looking for some seasoned people to go with, I have one buddy here in Saugerties who is awesome and we have gone a few times but he's on the verge of retirement and I'm goin full throttle. I'm gearing up for a very old homesite dig in dutchess county. Home is long gone, found records of where it should be but there is no sign above ground. Looking for a partner but it's share and share alike, they need to bring one to the table too.

I have been, but it has been tough to get out due to schedules, then I was sick for literally a month, then kids were sick, now my son is sick again. It never ends.
I always try to find the time to get out detecting though, I just hardly ever know when I will be going until the last minute.

I know the feeling. Just got over a 2 week cold myself. Hope everyone gets better soon. Give me a shout when you go out again. I just got an F75 and am trying to learn it. The weather is cramping my style!
