"Diggers" damage control

"wouldn't roll around and tear limbs off of trees in parks, etc." She said "That's good to know!"

I guess you hve never seen when Air Force Mike and I get together:lol::laughing:

I'll tell you what it reminds me of. I'm a Plumber. One day I had to crawl under an abandoned crack house I was trying to locate the sewer line to disconnect so a demolition company could knock it to the ground. Well a pack of feral dogs had been living under it. Next thing you know, I'm being torn up by hundreds of fleas. They're even weaving in and out of my socks. Had a Plumber friend of mine hospitalized from flea bites. Long story short. I stripped down to my underwear right by the road in the middle of crack town. Funny a few people there were used to seeing that s***! Guess Ringy and KG used to hunt under crack houses?

Garrett... Are you reading these comments

Maybe Garrett and other Mfgs. are getting a short term sales spike, but in the long run, they are going to suffer from the laws that will be past because of these two clowns. The rest of us will have less and less public lands open to us and less of a need/desire to upgrade equipment.

I watch the show and it seems like the "antics" have been dialed up lately. Also the narration is very repetitive: "I rolled the dirt out of the hole and stuck the pinpointer in". The good points: they tell a little more history about the sites and make sure to note that finds at historic sites are given to the property owner.

I still think it's the best of the detecting shows (a low bar).

I watch the show once in a while but a show on normal detecting by any one of us would find a niche audience and they want to get rating by acting like a bunch of dumbasses.

It would be nice to see a film of one guy detecting and all the !!!! we pull out, however, that would prob get no ratings anyway. This show will die and I wonder what the status of this show is toward the future?

Anyone know if it's been extended?

Unfortunately 95% of the viewers never have done any metal detecting and think this is the way we all act. Definitely not a good representation of our hobby. :(

Garbage

I try to watch the show, But I can't. They get on my nerves. I explain to curious people about real Metal detecting. I tell them the show is just entertainment like Bridezilla,The naked castaways, and other garbage on T.V.. I'm waiting to hear one of them getting hurt doing there antics. Nat geo has some fine shows, but this is not one of them. They should leave reality T.V. to the opy winfry network.

And don't even get me started with the way those 2 guys talk:

"silv in the pock", "roundness in the hole", "nectar".

There are a few guys on this forum that use some of those terms. Makes me want to puke. ("Hannibal Nectar" not included - that user name is hilarious ) I've told more than 1 person who has brought up the show that no real detectorists talk like that or act like that.

If anyone I was hunting with talked or acted like that, I'd have to slap them silly

Couldnt agree more.

DFA guys need to take over for these chumps. Dr. Tones vs KG in a steel cage match? Lol

I never miss a episode! I gotta get back to my nectar sector and extract my civ and rev from Mother Earth!!! I see roundness in the hole!!!! I have greatness in my hand!!

Don't forget to put that Sil Juice in yer Pock!!!

They have a forum that few of us have and they could do wonders for our hobby. Instead, they act like a couple of chimps on crack. Very disappointing.
That's the funniest discription I've read yet. " Chimps on crack"
I watch it to see the old coins and buttons, the finds are good for me. I have mixed feelings on the show having worked in film some yrs ago in Orlando. I get the product placement thing. Thats a ad tecnique that goes way back, so Garett can spend thier budget on it for all i care. These "Reality Shows" I used to take with little seriousness, are on and thriving. not for the good of anyone, they make money for the producers. Its not going to go away. I've allready had to explain to a couple people that we don't do the things you see on the show. I'm most concerned with the way they dig huge sloppy holes with a lesche. I no its so the A camera op can get a shot from that angle but the non detecting public doesn't know this.
Sometimes I'm in a jockular mood and you'll see it here so I may use some made on the fly terms to lighten up the writing a tad but in general I agree that the language is silly. Problem with this hole thing here is we are all ready strugling/ or worried we will soon be strugling with our current legislature for keeping our rights or privilages to detect on public lands. Anything that might sway the opinions of the unlearned but in charge could have devastaing results for us.

My sister used to watch The Jersey Shore kids and was amazed when she found they all used to get 50k per episode. Now the two girls she watches are some kind of celebs called Snookie and Jaywow! 50k per episode wouldn't get either one of them out of the honey wagon. ( The expensive trailer the actors rest up in waiting to give a couple lines). The rest of us like me a Grip, key grip, electric, CO, and even directed comercials and PSA's a couple times, were sweating and running around doing hard labor for 200 bucks a day as a Grip
Its just not gonna go away, this Ringy and KG may have once been mders, not anymore. Exponencial #s per episode and don't let them or anyone else tell yall any different. Some of the Real Actors I knew are suffering some this day. Having paid many dues and belonging to the Guild yet so much air time and the loss of money for them being spent on These Reality Shows.. In the end --I don't like it. Id rather a real documentary.

I watch them all and I think they are hilarious! Because of the exposure they got in Season 1 they are detecting amazing sites in Season 2. I would love to be one of those 2 clowns, having my own show and getting paid to detect forbidden places. Is that not a dream job gentlemen? (And ladies too!) How many of you are just a tad bit jealous of them? Cop, medical, and lawyer shows on TV are hugely unrealistic and they all get watched by people in those professions for the same reasons - ENTERTAINMENT. "Bear" Grylls (Man vs. Wild) to me is much more fabricated than Les Stroud (Survivorman), but guess who's got his own nice little line of outdoor accessories? Whenever I find a nice ring now I find myself taking a picture of it and sending it to my detecting buddy with the phrase..."I'VE GOT ROUNDNESS IN THE HOLE!"

It's an entertainment show, hyper-reality style, the amp up the thrill and excitement to keep it moving, keep it interesting. Think most people watching those kinds of shows, know it's not reality. Many of the references to the show, aren't probably meant to be taken anymore seriously, than the show.

What's a better representation, a reality show, or a news story about hobbyist getting busted breaking laws? We do occasion get some positive air time, if there is a few seconds to fill with a human interest segment. Like a returned ring, or helping the police find shell casings. Unfortunately, it's finders, melters, and avoid the police like the plague. Kind of rare these days, that hobbyists do positive, news worthy things, even less common for a news station to have time to run much of the story, honorable mention, at best.

The legislature has shown the capacity to do so really dumb stuff when it comes to writing up laws. -Even so, I HIGHLY doubt the antics of these two is enough to spawn any anti-md laws like some have predicted. 'Not gonna happen.

They are so stupid and unprofessional. They destroy property, run around like idiots, make up stupid names for finds. People claim to like the show because their colorful, but how does that help us? Is it worth watching an entertaining show if it ruins our hobby and makes us look like idiots who flip out over finding coins? I agree Garrett seems to have dropped them, their AT-Pros are really beat looking, if they were still sponsored by Garret they would probably keep them with new equipment to look good. They portray, what archeologist believe we are, money hungry, greedy, idiots. Savage is another one, but luckily no one seems to watch the show anymore, I didn't even know they had a 2nd season, and they changed the name of the show for it. I was concerned with the 2nd season preview, when I noticed they all had White's detectors, however I can't imagine a company like White's sponsoring idiots like Savage and his fake show.
