DigFellas is not a good one to watch

I thought the show was horrible. Too much animation and excitement over their finds. And the fact that they always relate the finds to the most prominent character related to their search areas. The show reminded me too much of diggers.

I really enjoy watching Bill Ladds detecting videos on youtube. Too bad he sold out to the how much it's worth crowd.

Sorry folks. Just not seeing this, or any of these shows doing ANYTHING but damage.

Still hoping they are all short fad.

Ya but at least we can understand every other word or so of what you southern folks says :p:laughing:. If the folks from the New England states would use the letter r in their vocabulary it would help to understand them :yes:.
 
While you guys are sitting around watching these shows I'm out scouting locations, securing permission, and detecting!

I don't watch TV for a reason, it sucks. If you don't like the show then maybe try not watching it?
 
DigFellas VS Diggers

I disagree guys -- I enjoyed it! Here's my take on it (my 2 cents):

I expected the DIGGERS to be on last night but they didn't even have repeats on but that's okay. I was able to watch the DIGFELLAS on the Travel Channel. I enjoyed it -- they weren't as "animated" as Ringy and KG but yes they got excited when they found something neat or interesting. What they did do that Ringy and KG don't do is show us the junk they found or at least announce it -- "Oh I got a piece of wire," or whatever kind of junk it was. And they also show on the screen what the item is and what it could be worth LIKE Ringy and KG do. But they don't have "competition" between each other and they don't have one of them do some dumb stunt at the end. I don't remember them showing/giving the land owner anything. They did go on property like Ringy and KG do -- they were on property where Billy the Kid was etc.

The two shows were good in my opinion! And they made it clear that they were to cover their holes as if they had never been there. I DID HEAR ONE OF THEM SAY THEY GOTTA COVER THE HOLES TO LOOK LIKE THEY HADN'T BEEN THERE! The shows were very positive. I would watch them again. They'll be back on next Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m./8:00 p.m. (CST/EST) on the Travel Channel. If the Diggers are back on I'll just have to catch the repeat later in the evening (if they're on).

No it wasn't mentioned that they had permission to be on these properties but I'm guessing the TV people had to get permission and probably had to pay for the USE of the property for the show! I guarantee you no TV company is just going walk up onto someone's property and start filming without prior permission -- it just doesn't happen unless it is NEWS! For a TV Show that's different!
 
I'm ready for the Digger shows to go away. I love digging so it is logical that I would like these shows, but I don't. These shows need to be canceled for the sake of all of us that love digging and don't have a reality show. All of you know I'm right, this is only going to hurt our hobby.
 
From the first 2 episodes, I like it better than the other 3. But I can see that the majority don't and are "wishing" the show would go away. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
 
I watched both episodes last night and IMMEDIATELY, the younger guy's accent, along with his personal voice tone, drove me nuts!! The older one of the two seems like he just is along with the younger one for the ride too. Waders and no life jackets in that canoe was definitely no way to teach kids, and some adults, anything about safety first. They covered up their holes, but did it in a very non important and second thought way. There were other things I saw too that I didn't like and I guess my overall question is why do the shows presently on TV want to portray MDers as a bunch of goofball idiots? If I didn't know better, that's the impression I'd get from this show and the show "Diggers". Both sets of men act like goof balls to me with, and in between, any finds.
 
Guys, it’s a half-hour show. They can’t show ALL the prep and all the boring stuff and everything else. And who cares if they are unsafe? As they say, ‘any press is good press’, and it looks like the show is working because you are all talking about it. :D
 
American Savage is staged it said it at the beggining of the show these are stories of our greatest finds. Diggers is animated a little to much and I hate how everthing could be Billy the Kid's bullet or a Blackbeards coin or Muddy Waters hub cap etc... I have not watched this new show yet so I don't have an opinion on this one yet. That being said these shows have pros and cons it will bring the metal detecting hobby a little more main stream, younger, and acceptable. If these shows don't start showing the code of ethics 95% of us follow covering holes, no trespassing, etc... it will paint us in a bad light. I am hoping these shows are better for the hobby and not worse. One good thing is when all these people run out and buy detectors thinking they are gonna get rich and learn that you have to practice, learn the machine and need patience there is gonna be a bargain for us on Craigslist or Ebay when they give up.
 
I watch for the his historical facts and maybe tips. However, I do not expect the show to be factual. I've seen worst shows.
 
I watched some of the first one don't remember if I started watching the second one. Because somewhere in there I fail I sleep in the chair so it must not have been a very good show.:laughing:
 
Okay I have been watching digging new england for years now, and I adore these guys. When it comes to youtube they do what they want to do.

When it comes to corporate television, they twist whatever is said to feild the common man. The show dig fellas is not good for us as a hobby, but these guys were genuine the entire time, and the editors made it something else. Pretty much the first rule of film, do what is to be seen.

Love diggin new england, dont like the show but I will watch it either way.

What does bill and howard think about the while situation?
 
Speed search and MUTE!

Wasn't too bad if you watched it with the "MUTE" button on. My opinion it needs a lot more digging And a whole lot less talking! Think diggers is better than it was the first episodes. No stupid bets. And a little less BS. But Dig fellas was just plain annoying offered nothing. Thank goodness for speed search and Mute.
