What are your oldest finds from battle relics? What is the most sought after type of relics from the war? What are the most valuable type is what I guess I am asking... Coins, buttons, weapons, artillary, etc? Do you have alot of others that detect in your area? Love these type of relics!

Dear h20hawgs,
the oldest finds were from middle ages (spears and ect.). All that kind of finds I gave to museum.
Basicly I am looking for awards. Other things like buttons, coins .. are less interesting for me but I still do collect, read about them. So if you ever visit Lithuania, I promise I will take you to some good places ;)
Talking about valuable find.. Hm.. I don't even know. Never thought about that. Sorry mate :)

Polishman, pozdrowienia z Litvi :) Dziękuję bardzo :)

Wow! That's some pretty cool stuff. You should open a military museum. My family is actually from Lithuania.

From your post the spears and middle age relics seem to be highly rare and valued as they should be... Please post pics of some of those when you come across them! I relic hunt for mostly civil war relics or older in the US. Our history does not go back nearly as far as where you live.
Great finds!

I saw a bodkin arrow point and a landmine. That's quite a bit of diversity. You have done a lot of work just posting the photos. I really liked looking.

Seems to be a lot of Russian ammo and Russian equipment. That shot-up cup was Russian. I'd love to have that kind of sport around my area.

Have fun and have your friends dig out the landmines.

h20hawgs, okay mate, I will make photos if I will find again something from middle ages weapons. Yes, relicts are highly valued but not enough protected. Corruption in goverment and museums :( So it's very important thing to find right people who can give a good protection to relicts.
You said you hunt civil war relicts. What are main finds from that period? US is very huge. I guess you have to travel a lot? :)
Polishman sent me greetings from Poland :)

Coupe86, seem's to be we are like brothers :D

Jenings, yes, it's a bit diversity. When I started diging, I was just looking for any kinds of finds. But getting more experienced I understood what is important for me and what should I collect. I posted this photos because I want that other people would get a chance to see something different. Besides, it's very cognitive.
Yes, cup is Russian. Dated 1940.

Demolition, you need to work hard then you will see a result ;)

Probe and shell cases

Kortesas, I've never used a probe like you had pictured. I was wondering how you know you've hit an artifact and not a rock? I've always wondered about this when I hear people say they use probes to find things.

About the ammo. I noticed fluted cases in some rounds along with some cases with small holes bored in them. Do you know the reason for this?

I've seen fluted chambers in H&K German rifles of blowback design. The chamber flutes causing extra grip on the case on ejection. This delaying the breech block from opening too soon. But flutes and holes in cases is new to me.

Fantastic collection of finds and they represent so many different countries - even the USA. I wonder how that got over there; perhaps WWII. If you keep collecting like that, you'll soon have your very own first-rate museum. Very impressive! Congrats!

what awesome finds i often find myself so interested in war objects and thats what these finds are. great job. and have you ever wondered if they are there because they were on or near someone who died?:?:
