I was only thinking of the April/May time frame because the ground is soft and June and July can see some wicked heat..

also farm fields will be somewhat occupied by crops so early spring or fall would be your best bet gentlemen.

It sounds like a wonderful idea adding some compensation to a home / site owner. Good thinking on your part. I would not mind offering a 20 to someone offering a large plot of land. I dont know about the others but I am game. Free is better , but like in life nothing is free. Happy Hunting!!

I am not from CT but I travel there often for business. I would like to join the hunt if Imay. I would also be willing to participate financially if the land owner's palm needs to be greased.

who said it had to be an active farm? i'm trying wolfy! i know you are coming in july so i'm trying to hold the hungy pack back till ya get here!

no but,seriously...if it's an old colonial farm with acres of rolling meadows that haven't seen a plow blade in years...that'll work too in july won't it?
ahhhh haaaaaa gotcha !!!!!!!! just a thought.
i don't know..then again maybe the fields will be grown up with flowerin plants full of bumble bees and all those lovely stingin thingy's we all love

I JUST SPOKE WITH VLAD & HE HAS GIVEN ME A CONTACT NAME OF A PERSON WHO ORGANIZES GROUP HUNTS.IF YOU ALL DON'T HAVE ANY OBJECTION I WILL CONTACT THIS GUY AND SEE IF MAYBE WE CAN INVOLVE HIM AND GET A GOOD LOCATION TO HOLD THIS HUNT.HE MAY BE A DETECTORIST HIMSELF SO,WE WILL have another swinger in our hunt.also,any objections to maybe each member pitchin in say $5 to go to help the forum out?just another idea i had.

Count me in 100% .. I live in Wallingford, Conn. and I just recently aquired permission to hunt on a large farm, now a bed and breakfast. Probably around 10 acres of fairly open land. I could talk to them again, and see if they would'nt mind, They seem like very nice people, but I will have to feel it out. I don't want to loose the "yes" I already have.

Thanks for the idea and let me know if you think they would be open to a hunt.. Good luck at the site! I will compile a list this weekend of folks interested so far. There's plenty of time to pick the site and a date.

I STILL THINK IF EACH OF US PITCHED IN $20 AND OFFERED IT TO THE PROPERTY OWNERS.MONEY TALKS.
I SPOKE WITH THE GUY THAT ORGANIZES HUNTS AND HE SAID PAST PROPERTIES THAT HAD ORGANIZED HUNTS WERE PAID FROM $500 -$2000
HE SAID IF HE FINDS A PIECE OF PROPERTY HE WOULD CALL ME,HE CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING OFF HAND AT THE MOMENT.
HE SAID EVERYONE SHHOULD KNOCK ON DOORS.. BEST BET.
ALSO INVOLVED IS LIABILITY ON OWNERS.SO MAYBE SOME KIND OF ACCIDENT WAIVER SHOULD BE MADE SO,THAT OWNERS ARE NOT HELD RESPONSIBLE IF SOMEONE GETS HURT.
