I believe V4 still has a glitch.
Anybody here have 3.2 still loaded???

I know this is a glitch,,I think.
Ground phase number in window using xy screen not available at times ,,,but is in the regular window,,,why??
Is there a good reason for this??

Use basic one factory program and do the following,if
someone with a version 3.2 Deus,,,try the following,,,set your ground balance up in manual try 77 manual in 18khz,,,then toggle to eaxh freq and check your GB setting. When you set to 4khz tell me what your GB setting is when you access.

Turn off your detector,,then back on,,go to basic 1,, select freq 4khz,,dial in 77 manual GB,,,then check your ground balance in your other freqs,,and tell me what you see.

If version 3.2 is the same as 4.0 in this respect,,,folks have to be careful setting up their GB.

There is a post going on in Facebook saying that Alain stated there will be a v4.1 release. Nothing stated about "other" corrections, but more to ensure people are downloading the correct update (ie. The latest update that includes the current fixes).

Do your remember if version. 3.2 has its own GB setting in 4khz?

I don't remember. It seems to me that if the purpose for v4.1 is to ensure everyone had the correct update that a simple file name change would be all that is required. Instead they are saying the release of v4.1 is TBD (to be determined)...which makes me think there are other tweaks happening.

Little hunting today with Deus V4.
Went to one small site,,house site,,house is gone.
Only found around 10 finds with Deus 3.2 using 9" and 11" coils and Nokt a impact detectors.

Today using Deus V4 9" coil,,,not one single find made period.
Should point out this ground in this site,,even after a rain hard as a brink,,,none of the finds found previously were not very deep.

Went to another site dates back to around 1830.. Sites does have some modern trash.
Running 8khz,,reactvity 2.5.. Silencer -1,, disc level 6, 3 tone with highest tone set to come in at 80. Dug 2 pull tabs ringing in at 82,, pull tabs were not rolled Jo either on the ring,,nice and straight,,and a mere 4" deep.
This is the Deus weak suit,,,hunting sites with modern trash.
It forces you to dig a lot of junk.
Granted just by looking at Xy screen,,or the horseshoe,,depth can be approximated on these as shallower,,and a user could pass on these.

One thing to be mindful of, after running deep program for abt 1.5hrs, I noticed coil battery ticked down a notch.

I remember someone else mentioning coil bat drain. Stock deep program puts TX to 3. Locked in, non-adjustable. They should've let us change that if desired.

I think I may load a similar program, call it "my deep" or something and keep the TX at 2.

Another good thing to carry might be a portable rechargeable battery pack and USB cord.

Correcting my own post: You can adjust TX setting in deep program, it does default on TX 3..so be mindful of that. (extra taxing on your battery)

I may be wrong,,but one of the so called 4.0s I downloaded,,didn't give me an expert tab while sens was selected.

Or maybe the ole Deus is playing tricks on my eyes.

With V4 Deus,,,it seems it provides much louder/stronger singals on targets vs V3.2.

I did a few checks today,,watching horseshoe meter on some deeper coins...seems horseshoe meter as far as depth goes pretty much unchanged vs V3.2.

Even using 9" coil,,you can get very good signal on deeper coin,,and even see no horseshoe sliver period,,,adjusting reactivity down,,and maintaining a -1 silencer can depending on the depth of targets,,,start allowing the horseshoe shading to start increasing a bit.

I compared going from reactivity 2.5 down to 2 down to level 1 doing these test,,maintaining silencer -1 setting.

So Deus V4 users still to have the horseshoe data to weigh while studying their targets,,good thing,,so much harder to gauge depth based solely on tone vs V3.2

I will also say 8kHz for deep program is your friend. Plus you dont really need TX3 on deep program, thats the default setting.

You can gauge depth using the XY screen too. Shorter lines = deeper or smaller target.

I noticed the ground phase reading missing in window of Xy screen too.
Don't know if this intentional or not,,,seems this window tries to read real time vs what you see ground pause wise not using Xy screen.

I think it is a flaw myself.
I am also questioning the GB setup between freqs.

A person has to watch out when toggling to other freqs.
GB can be set wrong if not careful.

Deus V4 is chewing through the first 9" of my soil here like a buzz saw,,,then it starts becoming more in check as the target deepens (clad dime).

Theres definitely something going on in this new software other than the obvious. Cant go back to 3.2. however there are minor tweaks I believe they are (hopefully) addressing.
