Amazing Silver Find At the Beach

awesome save!

It was the last thing I expected when I woke up I really hoped to get a silver ring but I'll take old currency any day of the. Especially barbers which hold some collectors value even if they aren't in the best condition. Because in the 1970 many of the barbers that remained were melted down for the silver content which makes them harder to come by they only made between 200,000-350,000 most years with only 2 in the millions both were from the San Francisco mint.

I sent better pics to 3 experts who gave it a VF-XF rating. And a value of $320-340.

Dude, please stop.

That coin was not pulled from saltwater and you don't have magical sand that protects coins..PERIOD. Secondly, please stop posting blatant false info about coins, their rarity or values. Every time you do, you make it abundantly clear that you don't know a thing about this subject.

I actually collect old currency. Only wheat pennies and civil war though. My grandfather has the largest confederate money collection in the world.

This coin was pulled from the saltwater. Actually during a very low tide.

While some may not believe this coin was found as stated and we are all allowed our opinions, please keep it from getting personal!

I literally couldnt beleive it when this thing came out of the scoop, i had gotten a hit that sounded like a faint bottlecap and probably 6-8 inches down during a extremely low tide i pulled this out. I found this at about 6:30pm today.

Someone could have lost it recently... on a saltwater beach that coin would either be encrusted or black... it hasn't been sitting there for decades. a coin in the wet sand can sink 6 inches in an hour.

my own observations with regards to silver in salt water:
if the item has been there for any length of time, the item either comes out quite black or the item comes out shining (at times) and worn smooth from the sand action. heck, i found a silver dime just today, in fresh water that was both.... worn smooth and was very black.

Sweet coin! But best grade this could be, assuming it's not "details" graded for being environmentally damaged - and it doesn't at all look like it was in salt water - is G04.

OMG You guys are NOT going to believe this! I went to the beach today and got a killer signal at 4 feet deep. I dug it with my hands because I didn't want anyone to know what I was doing.

you aren't gonna believe this but it was right at the bottom of the hole! I opened it up and it was just loaded with coins! Look at how shiny they are. I think the case protected them from the water and sand wear

I took it to 4 experts and they all said it was worth at least 2 in the bush
