4 Months new

Hello all!

I'm 4 months into the hobby and 7 silver rings, 2 silver medallions, 1 tungsten carbide wedding band and about $50 in clad richer (1 wheaty). I've been hitting the tot lots and old parks to learn my machine and the hobby. So far, I've learned that doing your homework pays off! Lessons learned so far: Careful site selection is crucial, digging everything keeps you from missing some good things, a big plug usually holds together better, you can't get it all (at least in one dig), the right tool makes the job easier, youtube is a good resource, people are curious (especially kids) and might have good tips, so be nice to em. I'm still learning and would love to learn from some more experienced hunters!

Hunting in Texas - Galveston to ?? I'm located in League City. Lets hunt together sometime!

Been through there a gazillion times. Born/raised in Bay City. Lived and worked most of my career in Houston. Fished numerious times on/around Galveston's west end. Loved fishing, but I like this hobby even more.

If it were convenient, I'd make a trip to Matagorda, TX for a hunt. Like Galveston, there's lots of early Texas history there. The old Bay City Rice Festival fair grounds would/should be a 'hot spot' for coin shooters as well.

Definitely wanting to go down to Matagorda, just need to get some time off for a few days digging. I'll PM you and next time youre headed down to Galveston we can meet up.
