I've probably cleared 150 rings already this year, and I've been hunting less than ever. I've found that I've been able to use the Garrett AT Max to really hone in on penny signals that "aren't" pennies. The difference in sound is subtle, but has really improved my find rate digging up rings...
Found this today on a new permission which is now a Farm field but used to have a home that pre dated the civil war and was taken over by the union during the war.
Rang up a 42-43 on the AT Pro…most of these signals were foil but this one was a small clasp of some kind. I’m thinking it’s...
Had a great time today with several coins, buttons, and musket balls! I got my first silver cob today, a 1723 Hibernia, a Connecticut copper?, a 1898 barber dime, 1939 wheat penny, and several buttons. Deus 2 was rocking it in the field for sure!
I need someone who is proficient with LRL devices or abilities. Even individuals who can see photographs and tell me where the silver coins are located.
Just get me within 20 - 50 yards and I will be happy. I will do the rest with my CTX3030. We will spit all my finds.
Need to find better...
Found this beautiful piece in Mahone Bay!
"The British Honours Committee decided that Second World War campaign medals awarded to British forces would be issued unnamed, a practice followed by all but three British Commonwealth countries. The recipient's name was impressed on the rim of the...
Hi All, new to this forum so apologies if I’m posting in the wrong place. I was recently doing some ground work for a family member at the Rhiw goch inn which is in wales in a town call Bronaber and I came across this pendant. A friend of mine said it was silver but I’m unsure can anyone shed...
Hello, I dug up this coin I believe and it doesn't have any writing on it. Anyone know what this could be? Also there is a tab that looks folded over on the one edge.
Please see attached photos and thank you!
Last summer I spent a lot of time researching old houses in our area, but unfortunately only made it out to one of them. However, yesterday after church my sister Chelsea and I went to an older area nearby with several old houses, which I had found using Historic Aerials. The first couple we...
This is what I found in Coinstars that I checked this past year, as well as a few coins I found on the ground or in a pop machine change tray, etc.
In the picture below, starting on the left is the US Clad I found: 84 coins equaling $8.91 (I actually found the least amount of pennies )...
My first silver was a while into last year, so it was a very nice surprise to find my 2nd silver (first of this year) on my very first official hunt of the year ! Hey, I know a Merc might not be as big of a deal to those in areas where silver is still more plentiful, but the way the public...
Was wondering if anyone had any tips on hunting an old dirt floor barn...also which corner of the foundation they might have put coins or valuables for good luck when building the barn? Thanks will post any finds here...the barn was built in 1884.
I'm looking for a 10 inch deep silver dollar buried on edge. It's in good shape, and has a note taped to it that says "Happy Birthday". It's been buried a week now in Sandy Michigan yard dirt.
What I've found to try next for the Deus so far after not being able to find it with the standard...
I found my first Barber Dime. I was swinging my Garrett AT Pro at an old house site that I had gained permission to hunt. I found some junk and a few wheats when I got a solid 82 signal. I dug down about 6 inches and I saw a glimpse of silver. Thinking I found a Rosie, I was shocked when a...
Just wanted to introduce myself. I found this forum while researching a new metal detector. I have a Garrett AT Max and get out about once or twice a week but the local beach where nearly everyone has lost rings when surfing has an exposed rock reef at low tide that is IMPOSSIBLE to detect due...
Found Lady Liberty at 10" at a park here in Chicago. Sounded faint and no VDIs but repeatable. A semi-Key date 1895 S Barber half with a bullet indent. A couple of feet away, I found an old looking bullet as well. I'm pretty sure, it's not the bullet that hit this coin but pretty cool to imagine...
Hello from Arizona.
I started stacking silver and it got me thinking about finding some coins, etc. With luck, I'll have a detector and go on my first adventure next month.
Looking forward to learning here and having fun!

Hey guys I recently found this 1738 Spanish coin and I have a couple of questions
I found it in a backyard of a house in San Antonio Texas so I was pretty amazed when I found it.
Here are the questions!
1. what is it worth?
2. how...
Today I found my 5th piece of silver since starting detecting last December. I have mostly been hitting parks which at times can be fruitless, but am trying to learn ways of squeezing more juice from the turnips they are.
I went out today to a park in Indy which I am sure has been detected many...
We made a quick stop at Walmart on Monday, and when I checked the reject tray in the Coinstar machine, I was really happy to find this little guy. :D I also found a total of over $6 in the 2 trips prior to this. :D :money:
Thank you for looking & God bless! :D
For two years I've been hunting old schools, parks, home sites, and farm fields with hopes of finding my first silver coin. Yesterday silver finally appeared!
It was the fourth trip with friends to a 40 acre permission with known history back to 1828. Approximately 50 yards downstream from...
