2012 FMDF Treasure Hunt, Please read...

This sounds like a great time! I'm definitely gonna try to make it! But it is only 2 weeks after my weeks vaca. in Key West FL. So not sure!

Key West is over rated..... Cancel that trip, reschedule your vacation, come hang out with us! :D

Seriously, I hope that you will be able to join us after your vacation. :yes:

I checked the calendar and the Saturday the hunt is scheduled isn't a "blackout" date so that means that I shouldn't have a problem getting it off. I'll know for sure once I send in an official time off request a month in advance. I'm crossing my fingers!

Lindsey, We all missed you at the third annual and I really hope that you will be able to attend this time. Good luck with the schedule.

If at all possible Gemmy and I would love to attend, but as we have an annual family commitment in May I’m just not sure.

Sounds like fun. It's only 525 miles. The date is on the calender and my wife and I will be there. Thanks.

I will have to be a maybe on this now. The dates I needed to take off work (day before and after) are already scheduled. It's possible something could work out closer to the actual date.

Ok after some careful consideration, I am planning on coming to Missouri for this event. Can anyone say which of the hotels listed is on most folks reseervation listing? it would be fun to stay at a hotel where others are staying too.

Thanks for the effort here, much appreciated. ColoKid

Count me in .....

Guess I better come and meet you all since you will be hunting in my back yard :p I am new to this forum but a long time coin hunter and have spent a lot of time hunting the general area of the hunt location.
The park has seen a lot of hunters but is quite large and as mentioned has that great deep black MO dirt.
Looking forward to a great time,Ray.

Having an engineering background I have a little formula I use to decide on a hotel.

X=√y³(a³ × b³ × cⁿ) / D

Where

X = the ratio of room price vs. murder/robbery & the three B’s (beaten, bugs, and booze)
y³ = odds of being murdered
a² = odds of room being robbed while you are there and getting your butt kicked
b³ = number of bugs in room
cⁿ = proximity of a liquor store
D = price of room

The formula never really works so I always go the cheap route. :lol:

Now that seems to be a poignant formula Mike, and as stated I might be better off sleeping in my car with the doors locked and my trusty Glock next to me.

But that said I suspect I will pick an available room and bring some bug and robber spray with me.

Thanks for the advise, much appreciated :laughing:
