2012 FMDF Treasure Hunt, Please read...

We are so ready for a road trip. It is getting closer and we are excited to meet everyone. See yall soon.

No Luck

Wife told me that the weekend of the 19th we will be taking care of our granddaughter so as much as I would like to attend will have to hope for next year.:(

What are you bringing???

Hey guy's and gal's I am trying to get an idea of what you are bringing to the picnic. I'm bringing the burgers........... maybe I'm just hungery, It will help us all out if we can idea who is bringing what so that we don't end up having 40 apple pies or something like that.

since I'm comin from Colorado and will have been on the road for two days hunting across Kansas, I will bring some store stuff whatever you need, napkins, paper plates, plastic stuff etc etc, all stuff I can pick up Friday before arrival.

Does that help? ColoKid

Anybody know what the weather is going to be like yet? I'd like to bring a couple watermelons if it's going to be hot.

Also, I have ALOT of paper plates, so don't anybody bring any!

I also asked Seana if she would make a sheet cake for us. She is an excellent cake baker!

Hopefully, Jason, my son, will bring more of his Venison Summer sausage and cheese appetizers. It is excellent!

I will also be bringing a couple tablecloths, and anything else I can squeeze in the trunk. :D

Looking forward to meeting and spending time with you all!

So, I'm starting to gather stuff for the trip. I found the paper plates, and I have 3 packs = 300 of them.

They are not the large heavy duty ones. So, if someone has/likes the heavy duty plates that would be good to bring too. :D

I have some plastic forks/knives but only 1 pack and I large, and 1 small tablecloth.

Other items needed

paper towels
napkins
large trash bags?
tablecloths
ketchup
mustard
pickles
onion!
potato chips
snacks galore!
extra drinks
several REAL knives and forks
extra prizes

Anything else?

We don't want Kansas Dave to have to supply anything. He's holding the hunt and made all the arrangements! :tiphat:

Also I heard May 19th is National Metal Detecting Day? That's cool!

I plan on being there

Myself and a freind plan on coming down from Omaha to enjoy a day of hunting with everyone. I hope to find more then last year. See you all soon.

I have a great recipe invented by a friend for a side dish, (or main dish), that involves lots of canned veggies and other stuff...tastes much better than it sounds.
Kind of a vegetarian goulash, or meat can be added but this time I won't in case some people have issues with that.
THOSE people shouldn't be allowed out of the house as far as I am concerned, but anywho.
Not only adults, but surprisingly, kids love it too.
Gonna make a big old batch for this thing.
Everybody that tastes it always asks for the recipe so I will bring that with me, also.

Wow I'm getting excited to meet up with everyone. I'll bring some soda, chips, and other snacks. The burgers, beans and potato salad sound good. I might bring a thing of potato salad or similar in a cooler. I'm also going to contact Ralph here in Iowa that owns the SunRay company that makes the probes and other detecting items to see if he want to join us or send me anything he might have for a prize.

We don't really know yet what to bring. We don't really want to prepare food cause we will have to do it on Thursday night because we will be leaving Friday morning for a ten hour drive. So whatever we made would not be served till Saturday and wouldn't be fresh. Does anyone know if there is a grocery in Rich Hill. We will be more than happy to run and fetch whatever is needed after we get there. Just let me know.

Knives for giveaway during hunt

Hi Kansas Dave and all

Here are some pics of the three knives I am bringing along as promised to be used by the group as giveaways to hunt participants. Please note that I am providing these knives to be given to outdoors lovers and the knives are intended for lawful use by the winners in areas where the user knows local law allows for the use & carry of these weapons.

This first pic shows the boxes with my digger as reference

I really appreciate your offer to make the grocery store runs as needed! I'm sure we will need to get something. It looks like we could use a tablecloth or two if you happen to have any. See ya in two weeks!
