2011 FMDF Diggin' It With Friends Treasure Hunt

Thanks everyone! Yeah, they're the cutest! I'll be looking for some birthday balloons too.

When are you going to get them started in Metal Detecting?

The KS MO hunt will be their first experience, and they will get lots of "hands on " training!

Their mom, Angela, says they already like to dig! BIG PLUS!

Maybe it will change

I noticed a couple of inconveniences at the Huntress Park. One of the biggest problems is I did not notice a public restroom there. I'm not saying they don't have one. I just didn't notice. The other problem is that they only have one grill on the grounds and it is located across the park from the shelter and next to the creek.

While I was in Clay Center, I took a look at Dexter Park and Utility Parks as well. Dexter Park is the Park with the amphitheater and didn't have any grills or restrooms there. Utility Park is the Park where they have the City zoo, if you want to call it that. Reminds me more of a petting zoo except you can't pet the animals. Utility Park does have a couple of nice shelters and grills, a large tot-lot and again I didn't notice any restrooms.

I'm thinking since we have already made plans to meet at Huntress Park, we will go ahead and keep with that plan. We might want to consider moving to Utility Park for our lunch.

Grills

Maybe someone has a portable grill or two they could bring along , you know some of those cheaper ones that wouldn't be hard to pack along . Some of them are pretty big round and use charcoal . I 'm afraid I don't have one tho as I live in a apartment where we can't grill . I'll bring a coffee can with me for the other or maybe a milk jug . Changing parks would probably work ok also as long as we can get a shelter house when were ready too .

How funny is that? Vlad told me to pack raincoats today.

The pictures are great Dave. Thanks for going and scoping it out.

Doesn't matter what we do, it will be fun! :D

As of today the forecast for rain is 40 percent after 1:00 pm. Bring your rain gear for you and your detectors. A change of clothes and shoes would be a good plan. :raining:

I really hope that weather holds off for our hunt! I just got us permission to hunt an old school that is on the 1900s plat map.
