$1 Coin... Who uses them?

I've only seen one in circulation around this area. Folks here just assume that anything new or different has got to be worth something extra. Heck, they even hoard the new pennies with the different designs on the back.....

That's because they have a choice. Take the choice away and put coins in their hands, and they'll use them too. It would be a good economic spin... take paper money below $10 away and if they don't like the coins, then they'll spend more because the lowest paper bill would be 10$

It makes great cents! lol

Chuck E. Cheese tokens

Here in Denver there's a big push for us to use them, since they make them here! I call them Chuck E. Cheese tokens, too. The transit ticket machines and automated parking tellers spit them out as change, but half of the vending machines already in place won't take them. I rarely see them spent or given out in change other than from those machines.

Where I used to work they had an ice cream vending machine that took $1 coins and gave them back as change. I certainly wouldn't mind finding lots of them even if the newest one is ugly. They still deposit the same at the bank! ;)

When the saqa jo's came out , this is a long time ago , wal mart made us give 1 to each customer back in change on purpose.

So if you got back say 4.23 , you got 3 dollar bills, 1 saqa and a 23 cents.

I have found 2 of those over the last few yrs while mding.... wish they were used more.
