I found this heavy iron vase looking object in my yard in Virginia. It is fairly heavy and my detector is saying there are pennies inside. It is sealed all around and I can't break the inside where the hole enters. Thoughts?

I have found 10 bullets in my backyard, along with a REM-UMC No. 12 Shurshot casing. I live in a suburban area of Central New Jersey. Does anyone know what could have been on my property? Does anyone know when they were from? My house was built in 1958.

Of course I am looking for bullets, buttons, breast plates, buckles and shell fragments, but what other items should I learn to recognize and not throw away as junk?
