Makro took care of coil issues.. they have an excellent customer service dept.

No, it can only be taken one way if you trace it to the post where it was first said.

And, I don't know what you are doing inserting text inside quoted statements but it is screwing the attribution of who said what. For example,

The quote is being attributed to you, yet it is I that made that post. Whatever you are doing, please stop it as it causes confusion in trying to follow a discussion.

I am not trying to do anything wrong or misleading, when I replied I tried to shorten my reply and I must have by mistake removed your quoted message.

Yes indeed you did say that.

Makro took care of me. Broken ear on a coil and I had another all the way from Turkey in 5 days. It isn't a miracle machine but in the iron it works very well. When I am going to a very trashy spot I take it instead of my E-Trac. And each thread I see of people having issues ends with Makro taking care of them.

Swung my xTerra 705 for the first time and the coil fell off. Broken ears as described here. Was shocked beyond belief. But a week later I received a new coil, no issues at all.

This reminded me of a time I hit a pothole in a Jacksonville street and damaged my car. Called the city and they refused to assist me. They said had someone else reported it first I would be covered but since I was first I was not. !!!?

So I resolved if it ever happened again I would call in a false report under a fake name and minutes later call back and report my damage.

Hello all...for those who do not know me. I am Dilek - Sales & Marketing Manager at Nokta. Although I handle the sales for Nokta products only and Makro has its own sales team, I write on behalf of both brands on forums since the companies have merged as of December 2014.

I would just like to mention that every single coil ear issue has been taken care of by either the dealer or the Makro sales team directly at no cost to the dealer or the customer. I will just copy and paste my posts from another forum as well as the member's post who had the issue:

''Hello all! I would like to clarify a few things:

The ear breakage on the 10X5.5'' coil on this thread is the first reported case and considering the fact that we have shipped thousands of these coils so far, it was considered as a single isolated issue by the Makro team. I cannot comment on why it was viewed as user fault without looking more into it but I confirm here that Makro team will be contacting this customer to replace his coil.

I would like to emphasize that we are a very transparent and honest company and when we have an issue ,we do not try to hide it or close our ears to customer complaints but rather be open about it and do whatever it takes to fix it and make our customers feel that they can trust us.

We did announce that we had issues with the 11'' coils and the bolts of the first few shipments and so far replaced each and every single coil that was reported to us. When the initial few failures were reported, Makro and its dealers sent replacements to customers right away to make the customers happy. Some replacement coils sent to them also failed because either the problem had not surfaced yet so we were not aware that we were sending faulty coils or it was very hard to track stocks of dealers and what was being sent to customers so some replacement coils sent to customers were not the updated ones. As a result, a few customers experienced the issue more than once.

We are not perfect just like no other manufacturer within this industry or others is but we are open, sincere and responsible.
Once again, we apologize to each and every single customer who had an issue with the Racer coils and we are here should you need any assistance.

Thank you!

Dilek

2nd post:
Hello! We checked more into the first reported case of ear breakage on the 10X5.5'' coil.
When we first realized the ear breakages on the 11X7'' coils, we stopped the production of all coils including the 10X5.5'' ones which were not shipping in volume at the time because it was an optional coil.
A total of 35 10X5.5'' coils were shipped before we stopped production. This number is very small and should not create a general concern.
If you have a coil ear breakage issue, please contact the Makro sales team at [email protected] and they will replace your coil.

''.. I give nokta/makro alot of credit for coming on an open forum and resolving this.. They are sending me a new coil and all is good! And noone else has to worry because its obvious they will stand behind what they sell..''

I agree with you folks..

When I first read TNS's post, I mistook it as HIM saying it. When I reread it, I understand he was quoting the rep.

Hey TNS... proper Grammar and punctuation is EVERYTHING on the internet.

Not disparaging you, just reminding you.

Beta testers told Makro of the issues. It wasn't isolated to one coil. Makro released the products anyway.

We know each other and talk and to me this is one more attempt to save face by shifting the blame in someone else by saying they used a different plastic compound than was Approved. The same compound testers told them was breaking.

Dilek-- Thanks for the reply, and the explanation. I have a question about what is going on. I'm going to say what I assure you a LOT of other guys here are thinking...

It LOOKS like they decided to send a new coil out only after they saw all the stink that has taken place on this forum. As the OP states, he was originally denied a coil unless he agreed to pay for it. Now you're telling me he is finally being sent a new coil, but don't have the details about this case. I don't expect to know details of their decisions, but I also don't think anyone would believe a company just woke up one morning, and decided to change their mind and send the OP a new coil for no reason at all. I firmly believe that had this thread not happened, he still wouldn't have a coil. Makro found out about this "bad press", and decided they better send out a coil to salvage what they can out of this situation.

Doesn't matter if it is one coil in 35, or one coil in 35,000. Why wasn't he taken care of right off the bat rather than days later after a thread showed up, and people (myself included) swore to never use Makro? I'm sure you can see how this looks.

I'm glad Basstracker is happy with how things finally ended up, and at the end of the day, a happy customer is the goal. Just shouldn't come to something like this to get it done.

If you had your timeline and history right on this you would know what you were talking about. Most everybody knew the correct timeline and the history, and well, it was not mentioned here for obvious reasons. The company has been very straight forward and let us know when this occurred after investigating the problem.

I think Makro, is making a good effort to take care of any issues.
They are in Turkey, it communication may sometimes be an issue. As well as being in a different time zone from most of us.

I say, we should give Makro the benefit of the doubt.

Hey Makro guys, can I get a hat or shirt? :)

Timeline, history ???? could that be when all those threads vanished along with the videos. Nector had it correct with the Beta testers. just prior to the hype storm.

Hmmmm..... Obviously there is some info I am not aware of. And for some reason it has all been deleted?? Makes me even more skeptical. Hope things work out from here on out for all involved / still interested. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm done. Something is way too fishy here for me. Don't need to know, don't want to know.

...think I'll just go back to digging stuff...

Hello all.... I think where the problem lies is that we were never part of this forum and I personally apologize that I did not register for this forum earlier. We recently joined this forum following an email I received with a link to this thread. Some members who are also members of other forums may be more familiar with our company or products and some may not. As we will share all info here too from now on, we are sure you will get to know us better within time.

At this point, it is very hard to go back and read each post and comment and reply to all and moreover whatever we say may sound biased to you. Therefore, we strongly suggest that you read user comments and feedbacks regarding our latest products FORS and Racer as well as our customer service on other forums. Our customers are our biggest advocates. When it comes to customer satisfaction and support, we can proudly say that customer is the start point to everything we do here at Nokta & Makro. We make our customers feel that we are very close to them regardless of the physical distance between us. We are a sincere and honest company, we listen to customers and try to offer them what they need instead of what we want.

We cannot guarantee that no one will have a single issue with our products and neither any other manufacturer in this industry or others can. Making a mistake is not a choice but not fixing your mistake and letting the customer down is! We cannot guarantee that we will never make a mistake but we do guarantee what we will never choose to let any our customer down.

I'm still not quiet sure about the Makro division of the company but I can attest to Nokta, Dilek and their willingness to help. I posted this on another forum, I basically went there to ask a question about my Nokta RS beeping a trouble code at me after I had accidently unhooked the coil during a repair. Some guy from Nokta saw what was going on and offered to repl. it free of charge with the updated push button type. The orig. slide switch was just a mess in the mud, would get stuck in place after the 3rd hole so I had I replaced it with a toggle switch. I got with Dilek and had a response within minutes and had a new pointer in a couple days, even let me keep the old one! http://www.garysdetecting.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=10292.msg97171#msg97171 I had to trade my Makro pointer in for a Garrett though, I didn't get along with that thing. If you need opinions on how to fix that Dilek let me know, I can tell now exactly why that thing bugged the cra* out of me.

It is kinda like this, Nokta has graduated with a degree and Makro is still in kindergarten trying to learn the ropes of today's business world. Given the learning curve and current rate of progression Makro should have a fairly good report card in a year or two. The parents seem to have taken the responsibility of their offspring which may bring that proposed date down somewhat.

Thank you all!

Sometime back you or a representative for Makro joined the forum, said "hi" gave us the usual "if you need anything yadada" and then poof... The person disappeared for months when you just showed up. So or Makro, or someone repping Makro has been here before, watched all the nonsense happen and just sat back up until a few days ago...

I'll have to search and see when that was when I get home, because I know I made a post or two about it.

New sponsor from Turkey!
Guys and gals, please welcome our new sponsor from Turkey, some of you heard the name Makro Racer, well the company that manufactures these machines is now a sponsor here. Their website is http://www.makrodetector.com

Hello, this is Dilek...Mr Veysel is the Sales Manager for Makro and I am the Sales Manager for Nokta products. I also write on behalf of both brands on forums and most forums members who read our threads are familiar with my name. Mr Veysel was asked to register for the forum so he could be a sponsor. He did not register to answer questions or post here as that is my job. Hope it is clear and sorry if there was a confusion.
