Makro took care of coil issues.. they have an excellent customer service dept.

Hello, this is Dilek...Mr Veysel is the Sales Manager for Makro and I am the Sales Manager for Nokta products. I also write on behalf of both brands on forums and most forums members who read our threads are familiar with my name. Mr Veysel was asked to register for the forum so he could be a sponsor. He did not register to answer questions or post here as that is my job. Hope it is clear and sorry if there was a confusion.

Swing,
As long as a person speaks on behalf of both companies, why does it matter if the other guy doesn't respond?

He couldn't even communicate to the higher ups that a shot storm is happening down here and people aren't getting taken care of? That sounds like the opposite of where he says the company doesn't CHOOSE to neglect people. Right?

Last I checked Sponsors PAY to sponsor/advertise and not take money. Some of this is a language barriers. Dilek is their best English speaking rep and thus now here to address concerns.

They took a big risk rushing a product and on the fly tweaks from input. It has mostly worked out but obviously they took a big hit in some areas. I like that a company has been open and responsive to input. Most people have had great results with support.

I also understand if others don't ever want to use there products. Remember our (detectorists) dollars ultimately shape the market.

I see what you are saying DetectingMO. There is a big difference between good business and gambling. I, for one, wouldn't appreciate being used as a guinea pig. If they pushed machines out to the public quickly, that's exactly what they did.

Like you said, dollars shape the market. They will either fix this stuff very quickly, or they'll sink like a rock. If they get it fixed, and turn things around, I would hope this is the LAST time they opt for a "fix on the fly" strategy.

Most people are willing to forgive once, but not twice.

Model year

At what point does the first model year end and the second model year begin? My father taught me to never purchase the first model year. He says let them work out the bugs in the first year.

Why would you pay to sponsor but not take money from sales? That made no sense...

Point was any detector company that pays can be a sponsor. Doesn't make them reputable by merely being a sponsor.

Alot of people from beta testers to potential customers have seen shady tactics be pushed under the rug and now that another rep is here sweet talking we're supposed to forget what we've seen and just act like those things didn't happen.

Actions speak louder than words. As my best buddy Davo always says "Well you got the talking part done..."

I seriously think some of the folks here are way to into conspiracy stuff.

Makro et el. Saw/read about issues with their machines and decide to sign up here to be able to officially talk to users to try and resolve problems. Whether it is pre-emptive or not, It really doesn't matter anymore. The fact is, they are now here and handling customer issues. You folks need to get off their backs about their motivations for signing up and paying to be in the sponsor list.

It doesn't matter anymore what the reason for joining the list was. They are here and servicing the machine owners. Just let it die down..

I feel like I am in high-school or in a room with all the conspiracy people.

They know what product testers told them and they ignored. Thats the point. ..no conspiracy to those without rose colored glasses.

Whatever...I know what I know...;)

that's because the context of the comment I was responding to was removed.

During the product introduction it became very commonplace to just see whole threads and videos (members and beta testers) vanish. The march just seems to go on.:(

I never rush to buy the first run of a detector.

Every brand I see with a new product depends on feedback to get the product right. It wasn't made to brake or not work on purpose. Also with anything man made, god disposes. What I mean is, things happen. I hope you got the problem fixed as I would love to know how the machine performs. It was one of the detectors I was looking at when I bought the AT Pro, but couldn't get enough info from real users. I look at real users, and real finds. I dont believe the hype. I am sorry to hear you had problems. Let me know what happens.

Hello all.. We see that a lot of misinformation being posted regarding the background of the Racer coil ear breakage issue. With all due respect, people should refrain from making assumptions and mislead people. We took the responsibility as a company and made the announcement on all public forums regarding the issue and so far replaced each and single coil that was reported to us. Most of them were replaced in a matter of few days directly shipped from our factory in Turkey to USA or anywhere else in the world. We are not here to make any member believe in anything they do not want to nor we have joined this forum to make any claims. We have joined this forum simply to answer questions regarding our company and products and assist those who are interested. Now, certain members may be supporting the competition and we actually respect competition as it forces manufacturers to offer better products which will benefit the end-user at the end. But we also please ask all to show the same respect and refrain from making false accusations.
Thank you all!

No false accusations were made, see that's where we have the problem, you forget that some of us know how the coil breakage issue was brought to the companies attention in testing stage, and the machines were released anyway. One tester had a machine break in 3 different areas and made you aware of that before the machines were released to the public. He no longer swings a Racer...;) For you to act like those of us who know what happened are making false accustions only makes you look worse in our eyes while you attempt to save face.

Mentioning the competition that you welcome has nothing to do with what we are talking about. It isn't the coils you replaced after the machine that some of us take issue with. It;s the fact that it was known pre release, and then AT FIRST the company wasn't going to stad up and take care of the customer correctly until we started making a stink about it...then it became a priority to come here and try and clean up.

That's where some of us took issue...

Nectar,
Which tester are you referring to in your post???

Second, when I read your post you should be thanking Makro instead of what you are doing.

You see you are overlooking one very important detail. The testers actually released details about the detector before official release.

If what you are saying in your post above, Makro allowing the information to be made public --- they actually did you a favor. Makro/the testers gave you it seems useful information, correct???

Fact: The AT Pro when initially released had hardware mounting problems as well as coil falsing problems. Did you know about them before initial release???
I don't think so. Folks had to purchase to find the flaws???? Correct.

Makro has acknowledged their problem it seems and are taking care of their customers. What else could a reasonable person expect???

And to add their are/were other manufacturers detectors released with problems, and some of the manufacturers resolutions of those problems was /were less than ideal--at least from a process standpoint.

So you see if the Makro Racer would have been handled like the AT Pro's initial release---- the same scenario would have played out as the AT Pro.

You do have to admit, that Makro did step up, after only a few months after the release, and voluntarily corrected these issues. Most U.S. companies won't admit to mistakes, until sued in court, and several people have died, do to such mistakes in their products. Fortunately, no one had to die, before anything was recalled, and it didn't take years, after the flaws were known to be wide spread, like several of our automotive companies.

Takes some time to asses the scope of a defect. Was just a single shift at the plant, a few days, or the entire product run? Certain level of risk, to announce too quickly, if the problem is relatively small.

Sure, mistakes were made, but they are being corrected. Don't really think Makro deserves all this grief about it. I don't believe all the hype, it's a decent, mid-price range machine, just not the sell your current detector and get one, as a few of our members claim. I sure it's well worth it's price tag though, and will probably continue to grow and improve over time. Don't see me running out to buy one, my current machine works just fine for me, seldom use it's full capacity.

Mistakes were made in how the issue was initially handled, but since been corrected. I don't think it's really that important to nail down, precisely when they knew. Some people used those machines for months, before the coil broke. Probably quite a few that still haven't broken, depends on how rough you are with your equipment.

Don't really think attacking the representative is appropriate here, publicly. They are a forum member, and it's in the rules. They should get the same respect as the rest of us. Garrett sold (probably still sells) the same flawed ProPointer, for many years. Way too many forum members own two or more, so they have at least on functioning, while the other is getting some of the 'great' customer service. I threw mine in a drawer, after the second full failure. Two units, develop the same fatal problem, in the same time frame. True, Garrett will repair/replace, just send it back, price of shipping each time. Good enough for most people, wasn't for me though. I didn't want to keep going through the cycle. The best customer service, is the one you never need...
