Sleddman and I hunted iron beach in Atlantic City between the steel pier earlier this week, we've also hit some old home sites and a tot lot. . .

We had some firsts between us, sleddman found his first TWO standing liberty's and his first barber dime.

I found my first ring ever, and had no clue what it was. . . he ID'd it ( I dont know how ) as a buster brown give-away ring. He was spot on, from the '30s or '40s. I also found my first mercury dime.

We did pretty good with the clad at the tot lot today. . . it was nice to find some clean coins after finding coins completely crusted with iron in Atlantic City.

Most impressive find was sleddman's 1964 silver dime from a tot lot that's only been there for a few years!

Any button guys that can help ID that button would be appreciated!

Enjoy the photos!

wow! Did you know that was a standing liberty quarter before you cleaned it? Thats crazy how much iron is on those :shout:

Very nice, love the Buster Brown ring...In the first photo, that large plug on the left, is a drain stopper from an old Crane laundry sink...very cool stuff....Curt:grin:

The on was so thick on a couple of them we had to chip it off to see the silver. :?: On this beach you need a detector to see inside of iron formations. Talk about a hard beach to hunt, but in the end it's worth it. :D .
