So I've been playing around with a new dectector and trying to learn how to use it. All of my hunts have been in the woods or around old cellar holes. I decided to hike into a spot where I remember seeing one years ago that I knew would be easy to get to and probably hunted out.
When i got close, I got off the old cart path and started swinging in the woods. On my way I caught a glimpse of something yellow and went to check it out. It was an older Pennsylvania Dutch German Beer can. When I got home I looked it up and it appears its from 1953ish. About 10 feet away from the can, I got a solid signal and dug down about 5 inches and found the indian. i'm not sure if I bent it on the recovery or it was already bent - but either way its an 1864 - and I'm guessing he drank the beer.
The other items I found, appear to be a handle to a utensil, a smaller bent flat button, an random piece of lead, what appears to the be handle to the bolt action of a gun, and a small copper item that I have no idea. The item I think is a bolt handle - could be something else given the corrosion - and since people ride ATVs/dirt bikes back here etc.
The small round copper item, has holes on both ends and appears to be threaded on the inside. It was about 8 inches deep, but I'm at a loss for what it is.
I'll definitely be going back to this spot because i only had a little over an hour to swing once I got there.
