I was shooting the other day at the park area I found the 1910 Barber. I've been pulling bottle caps all day. Then I got a solid 84 signal on my AT Pro. Dug about 6 - 8 inches and noticed this laying in the dirt scooped out of the hole. At first I thought it was a washer or junk at it looked thick. I gently brushed it off and took it home to clean and.... damn....a 1840 Large Cent. What a rush!

that is one good lookin coin u got there! i remember my first one. I couldnt stop jumping around i was so happy!
 
Great coin!!! I have only found one, but it is my fav. Like you, i thought it was junk, maybe a token. Quick lil thumb across the back revealed the "one cent". It is the rush that keeps us going!
 
congrats, ya always remember your first. LC's are always fun ta see at the bottom of the hole
