Was i shocked when this nickel came out of the ground. I dont wear my glasses when im detecting so i had to walk back to my car to see the date , but i could see the big V without my glasses. also found 46 clad coins and this amusement park penny. will be going back tomorrow morning for another morning of detecting.

Now, that's a nice looking nickel. They usually come out of the ground in terrible shape. That one held up well. Even the word Liberty is legible. Very nice find, anode.

The other item is a nice looking piece. Is it made of copper?

its a penny that was put thru a press at the amusement park
 
Great looking V anode! The only one I have found (1901) was a lot more wore out than that one. Yours still has nice detail.
 
That sure is a nice find ! They are extremely rare here.
And hey - you almost broke the 1900 barrier - congrats, Steve in so az
 
Nice V nickle, I have yet to find one. A buddy I work with wanted to try MDing so I took him out and let him use my cheap backup detector and within 15 mins. he found one...beginners luck.
