I found this George III silver sixpence a couple of years ago…

They are not particularly rare, but I think it’s only the third I have ever found.

I am not sure who designed these, but I think they look stunning, far nicer than some of the later Victoria silvers…

So not my oldest coin, but a firm favourite, one that just makes me smile when I look at it…

I've got two favorite coins. My oldest US coin, an 1835 half dime found on the Santa Fe Trail site and an extremely nice 1877 seated dime from a watering hole on the Santa Fe Trail.

Favorite Coin Finds

I’ve got 3, but I guess I put My 1877 Seated Half on a memory stick. I do still have the 1827 Mexican Reale, and the 1861 Half Dime. Such Great Memories!

Some lovely coins there folks…I would love to find a historic Spanish coin like that Reale but they are very scarce here in the UK, and the ones I have heard of being found, were all near the south coast of the Uk..

I like that its not about the oldest coin, or the most valuable one, but one that just catches our fancy, for whatever personal reason. I'd much rather have an early 1800's, or God forbid, a 1700's US coin than a 1600's Spanish Reale. Why? Just personal preference, so its cool to see others have their favorites too

That is a fantastic looking coin Pete.
Same year as the one i recently found and i just realised i have another but it looks like its been shot ! it has a large round dent in it.
All of them 1816, is that coincidence or was that the only year minted ??
And well impressed with the pics of everyone elses on the thread.
