I found this disc shaped lead object (bottom Picture) that i thought might be a button, but it was a little to heavy. After some research i found out troops would melt lead into discs then let it harden. This served two purposes 1: they could make musket balls fast without chopping lead and 2: they didn't have to carry around more lead then needed.
