New spot. Late 1800’s property, ex campground and first religious medallion.

Congrats on the silver dime! It's nice to find something worthwhile after multiple hours invested. I have been out to an old hotel site (demolished) twice now for 2+ hours each time, and I have yet to find anything other than nails and aluminum. I need to detect somewhere less punishing!

Sometimes in my experience the most punishing eventually pays of. My only two seated coins came after hundreds of nails and a few hundred hours at one spot. Stick with it.

Well yesterday was rough swinging. Grass is very tall and the wildfire smoke was abundant. I went over to the old orchard and found some oil can lids, nails and a little foil. Decided to go back by homesite where I had found the Rosie. After digging a couple nails I got a very solid 25 on the nox. Best relic yet.

As you can see it is tall and hard to swing the the wildfire smoke is heavy.

Found nothing over here as it was very hard to swing and quiet.

But back over by the house oh boy my first military relic. I believe it is a WW1 general service button

It was very humid and tough but very rewarding. Can’t wait till winter late fall time this spot is gonna be outstanding!

I will go back mid week Thursday it is gonna hopefully rain I will be going then.

Well I found two more wheats there yesterday with DirtFishingDan. A 1940 and a 1945s again. He found two sets of license plate tabs from the 50’s and two old pocket knives. We went to another location for about an hour he found another wheat and so did I a 1919s. Also found a 1952 Canadian penny at the first spot. Gonna wait till the grass dies before I go back. It had finally rained (51 days without even a drizzle) so that tall grass was soaking us even with our rain gear on it was super annoying.

So that puts me at 43 wheats for the year dug naturally. Have another 29 from a seeded hunt that I am not counting. Only 47 away from my goal of 100. I have 5 ihps this year my goal is 20 so hopefully I can reach both my penny goals but it is not looking too promising

Today I am going to an old resort that was active from the late 40’s till the 90’s when a flood took out a couple homes up river and a few of the resorts cabins. That flood destroyed salmon habitat so county bought it in early 2000’s. It is now trails for hikers and such. Not sure if there is anything besides clad and modern to fairly modern trash but gonna give it a few hours and test it out. The main lodge and remaining cabins were relocated to another property a ways away. My general area is kinda running out of spots as there wasn’t any settlement here till late 1800’s and early 1900’s but I am still trying.
