Default Couple finds on a quick hunt

Out for an hour this morning dug about a buck in clad, this old pistol frame and on my way back to the truck dug the Rosie. Nothing too exciting but the frame was cool.

Steve, congrats on the silver! That pistol frame would make a good life-time restoration project...lol.

After looking at it closer it seems to be a pepperbox frame.

Congrats on the pistol frame and silver Rosie. Any hunt these days, short or not that ends with silver, is a great hunt. Another one for the coffers. Attaboy Steve. Good luck, Mark

No, a pepperbox is a type of pistol. That pistol frame is a killer find in my books.

The pepperbox was an early version of the revolver with rotating barrels, not just a rotating cylinder IIRC.
