Was just looking through images on Google and noticed some slight variations in where the shaft is mounted on some 9" coils. Some are mounted in the center and others closer to the bottom (see pics). Can anyone confirm this? To me, having the shaft mounted in the center makes a lot more sense because it lets you easily press the coil against the ground to level it. I have the version with the shaft mounted near the bottom and its a pain to level. No big deal really. I'm just curious about the other version.

Left image is the newest version. Right image is the original style. They changed the design few years back I believe.

Two different coil covers, MK 1 & 2, worth remembering if you have to order a spare?

I could be wrong.
But if my memory serves me correctly.
There are indeed 3 generations of the 9" coil.

But this additional generation (first) has nothing to do with coil mounting location.

Some thing about battery, and the fixture on the coil.

Trying to locate info.
Seems around 2013 or 2014 the second generation came out.

I could be wrong.

I think the first generation 9" coil had raised xp logo on front of coil(no sticker).

Coil covers are not interchangeable here, in case someone has one of these coils and needs a cover.
I would post a link, but I can't due to it being a dealers site over in uk.

Ok here a link showing video/pic of origianl9" coil released 2010 I beleive.

I think my first Deus with 9" coil was indeed first generation.
I traded it though.

Likely not many folks in USA have the first generation (older) coils.
They are referred to this way on some uk dealers sites.
When you look at coil covers.

The sticker or raised Deus logo seems to be the dead giveaway.

Btw Inwould have had a Deus sooner.
The reason I waited a bit, is because some yahoos over here in USA could tell by looking at pics the Deus basically was a POS build.
How wrong they were.

I am still taken aback by it's price but they should be proud of their product. It works extremely well.

You should have seen what they cost back in 2012 or 2013.
Quite a bit more actually.
I believe MSRP was $1899 for complete setup with ws4 back phones,,9" coil.

11" coil didn't even exist then.

I beleive Deus debut in USA as far as sales in 2012. Version 2 programmed units.

A few had sneaked over before this to USA I think.
Originals also had a magnet holding the remote on,,,I do 't think models such as this were sold in USA new.

Was a bad setup, but Xp corrected.

Btw, Xp is actually by date of starting to manufacturer detectors one of the youngest out there.
Go figure.
They have come a long ways in a short period of time.
Xp Goldmaxx platform, was a wired version detector, it is older platform than some realize and was very good, just wasn't sold in USA.
The Goldmaxx power then came to light,,,is very good detector, just heavier.

Reason for the magnet was the remote would be removable after set up and before use, this was the 'tradition' of all previous XP models, no visual readout.

Horse shoe read out added at a later date on the remote.

I ran the XP Goldmaxx Power for over 8 years with no visual readout.
