I had a great time over the weekend detecting. I went with a buddy of mine and my mentor, a real legend in my area on Saturday to a field with history that goes back to the 1600's. I have rarely ever been on a piece of land with that much history. So it was like a new world to me. I am a parks and schools guy really, I have been for quite sometime. And we don't have much history in my area, so we drove out quite a distance to get there. It felt good digging stuff that old, I dug quite a few musket balls, some flat buttons, my first half cent, an 1804, an 1845 Large Cent, and an 1864 Fatty H Penny, and a few small relics. And then Sunday I went solo to my 1940s field I had previously worked last week. This time I had another monster hunt, with a very interesting silver ring,12 silver coins, over 14 dollars in clad, a Buffalo nickel, 4 old Jefferson nickels, a V nickel, a local historic workers tag from a company in Niagara Falls NY, a 1950s Oldsmobile key chain fob, some kind of football award, and a beautiful religious pendant. Thanks for looking everyone, and HH :)!

Wow Ron that historic field hunt really produced some very nice rewards, love the big Coppers and the Fatty. I have never dug a Half penny. Then you out done that hunt with a great take on the shiny scene at the old school. That Ring is a big Hunker. Congrats on a super Silver Coin haul and the Sterling. Very impressive outings. Trapper

Wow, a couple of great hunts.

This is the type of hunting I like.
Parks and clad are ok but doesn't have the excitement of finding the old stuff.

Dang, you killed it out there. Congrats on all the finds and love seeing those older coins in the mix. When you say field, is it a park field or farm field?

aaggghhh, another east coast L.C. A NSFT post :frustrated:

What is the semi-circle object, above the bottom left hand side pistol ball ?
