I need a tesoro Bandido manual to download. This is the first model of this detector. There is a black knob on the back of the housing that I need to know what it does. And just general information on how to ground balance and how to adjust for best operation. Thank you

That small trimmer on the back is what adjusts your threshold setting. Maybe someone will chime in on where you can find a owners manual.?

Thank you for the information. Someone on another forum was able to provide me with the manual for my bandido. It does not specifically address how to adjust the threshold, it just says that once set it it's pretty much good to go with minimal future adjustment needed. Now I just need to research how to adjust it. Thank you and merry Christmas!

Dirk Digger you want to set that threshold to where it sounds like a mosquito buzzing around your ear for the overall best signal response. After you get more practice some detectorists will turn up the threshold while in discriminate mode to get a bit more depth. I don't care for that because I like to switch back and forth between all-metal and discriminate modes sometimes to get a better idea of what the signal may be. Hope some of this makes sense and Merry Christmas to you!

Thank you for the advice. I am rediscovering my metal detecting passion. I have a treasure pro that I bought last year and have been using. I found this tesoro Bandido in a thrift store and have always thought about buying a tesoro detector. I just need to find places to hunt. I go to the beach about twice a year but it isn't enough to satisfy my treasure hunting urge's! I've been thinking about trying to hunt some of these creeks around here (west georgia) for placer gold. It seems like there are no public places to hunt anymore 😔

Dirk that Bandido will be simple to learn and now you have the manual for reference. Looks like you found a nice clean Tesoro to be almost 30 years of age!

Number one ... those are great detectors 2. You must learn to set the threshold with the little pod on front , 3 do not run 6 a whole lot of dis because it has a bunch sorta built in 4 Tune the detector in All metal , set your threshold to a light hum , 5 Ground Balance ...you can find that on youtube , all Tesoros grounnd balamce about the same no matter what year or model , I hunt in All metal until I fimd a target then I switch to DISC ...to check it ....The detector is old but they work grear , I own a whole bumch of Tesors and like these Bandido machines ...... remember set thresshold , set ground balance . set DISC low , hunt in all metal , switch to disc when you get a target
