Hey everyone,
I have a few things to ask you. I'm going to Alaska for 5 months this coming summer to guide. I have Garret Ace 250 and have about 50 hours of experience with it, but I've never done any gold nugget hunting with it. Here is a few questions for you
(1) How good is Ace 250 at detecting nugets? Iknow it's a cheap detector but maybe it has a potential :)
(2) What is the best MODE to use while hunting for nuggets?
(3) Can I get a better (larger surface) coil for it and what type/make?

Any other advice/comment would be highly appreciated as I cant take a lot of equipment with me. So if it is not worth bringing it with I'd rather not.
Thanks in advance and have a great day!

I am not a nugget hunter but the soil in gold country can be very hot
so a larger coil can be a bad thing.
The bigger coil will see to much soil just like if you were at a park and
put a handfull of pull tabs on the ground with a gold ring in the middle
The bigger the coil the less it will see.
If you can rent borrow a gold machine it would be sweet.
