I remember seeing White’s detectors in a Sears catalog with the Sears name on them. And speaking of “Back in the Day”, my dad got from a neighbor, then gave to me, maybe 25 years ago, an old Fisher “two-box” detector that used vacuum tubes and large batteries, versus solid state electronics. The boxes were constructed of Masonite, I believe, and the handle that joined the transmit and receive boxes/coils was made of wood. A very neat relic of this hobby. I ended up selling it to a fellow MTHA club member who was a Fisher detector dealer.
