What do you do with your silver?

KT likes this thread! His Majesty hoards every silver coin that comes within the reach of the Royal Kingdom! If silver ever reaches $50 a Troy ounce, KT will haul it all to a coin show and sell it all, by weight. Then give the money to Prince John, to start his Roth IRA.

I don't think I have found that much silver in 30 years, fantastic job. I'm moving to the UK.

One thing I do melt is silver, knock the crusty off and off it goes to MW. If I did not find any gold I would keep the silver.
4 grams of 14k gold, 175.00
4 grams of silver 3.35

When you got to hightail it, gold takes up less space.

In addition to the scrap silver I sold Sexton ($500), I have sold almost 75-80% of my remaining silver jewelry. It was taking up too much space that was needed for the incoming gold. :cool3:

I've kept every silver coin, every piece of sterling silver jewelry, every piece of gold jewelry, and the one gold coin I found. I just can't bear to sell it. There was only one exception....this circa 1915 silver Jensen ring I dug which I sold for $175.00

Ya'll are not thinking straight! You amass a lot of old silver coins, silver and gold jewelry until you have quite the trove of treasure. Find a very remote place to bury it, and then sell obscure hints to where it's buried. You'll make more money than scrapping it out. Let someone else worry about cleaning it up. Just kidding. :rofl2: I don't find enough jewelry to worry about doing the scrap thing.
Ok Forrest ! The local So.Cal Youtube boob tried that on his channel and reportedly was threatened by YouTube and others with lawsuits as a fraudster. He even had a beginning video about it all. End of video he complained he had to go back and dig up his treasure chest he buried. The way I understood it was this : You had to be a subscriber. Then , sporadically mind you , those subscribers that paid an additional $30 he would release a clue. And you had to keep watching to be offered the privilege of paying another $30 for another clue. There was no mention when this was going to end. Could you imagine going a year of paying $30 a pop , you think your half way there.....and then suddenly he starts charging $50 a pop and your 3 years away ? I know he took in alot of money , had to apologize and do some refunds. Total scammer !

I would pay the $30 and just share the info for free. Plus, whats to stop him just moving the goal posts forever.

I have done that actually. Some 20 years ago I took some of my very best finds and buried tham. I left clues in several books in the library and got the news of the "Adams Treasure" out to the public. I want people to enjoy the hunt & hopefully the find as I did. There is one container in the box with over $2,000 worth of silver. I have seen posts about people who have looked for it over the years.
Did anyone ever find it?
Sounds fun.

I think I need to find them first. But If I do find any I will keep them. Besides thats a lot of work to put in, and then just melt it down? Especially coins, all those great designs that just don't exist any more.

Nope!

My brother, before he passed, tried and tried to get me to give him more clues, but I have held fast. I am bound and determined to keep this treasure the real thing. I used to have pictures of the treasure but they were lost in a hard drive crash. There are some very unique and valuable goodies. The finder will be very happy for sure. Lost of jewelry.
