Hi everyone!
I am Bob from northwest Indiana we just recieved our first detector yesterday the garrett 2500 gti with depth multiplier. Plan on doing some cache hunting this summer. Problem is I have 3 small boys ages 5 to 9 who are going hunting with me and I will need to purchase at least one more detector for them to use. I don't want to buy something that won't allow them to find things because the worst thing is to loose interest because it doesn't work. Any sugestions?

My son loves to use the pinpointer. That way he can just hang out and be a kid while I find where to dig. Then he gets involved in the dig and recovery part.I doubt he would swing a coil but so long before boredom set in.

I agree with Epi's suggestion. Take a hard look at the ACE series. Both the 150 and 250 would be a great, quality beginner machine for your boys. They're lightweight enough for the youngsters to use without tiring, yet sensitive enough to allow them to come home with a pocketful of goodies, which will hopefully help keep their interest. They would also make good backup detectors if you didn't want to lug the GTI out for an hour long coinshooting hunt. Good luck with your cache hunting, and if you could, when you get to use it, post us some feedback. I've been interested in the GTI with the 2 box myself for a while, I just can't decide between that or a water machine. Thanks, and HH!

Hi Bob, and welcome. I agree that one of the ACE's would be a good choice. Once the kids start finding things on their own, you won't have a moments peace.

I also agree an Ace 150 or 250, maybe even consider a used Troy X2, my Grandson who is 6 yrs old likes his. H.H.:-)
