L.W.Pond Revolver

S

I dug this revolver a few months back from the site of the civil war skirmish and camp at Little Sugar Creek Arkansas. The fight took place on February 18,1862 and the research I have done on the pistol according to the serial number places its manufacture in late 1861 or early 1862.My father owns the farm where this civil war site is and I have found many relics there from buttons and spurs to this revolver.

You are fortunate to have such a great place to dig. Great find!!

Congrats on finding a great piece of history. That site will definately produce some more excellent finds over time.

Hello,
A good find you have made. Are you sure the Model was 1862?
I mean the frame around where the cylinder was seems to be more like
1870's -1900's.
I had a book of these Civil War period weapons. It seems that the trigger was the so called "Mexican Trigger" model.
