Hope everyone on the form is doing well. Been a while since I posted anything still detecting though. Do not get out as much as I used to. Been doing some side work for people keeping me busy. The wife passed away in March 2021 almost 2 years. my son passed away April last year still fighting that out with the lawyer’s long story. I have been doing some Civil War sites. Thought I would post a few pictures of things I have done. Use old treadle sewing machines and make things out of them. Redone a Metal glider sandblasted it and a nice paint job. redone and old sewing machine also .

:welcomeback: to the forum! Thanks for stopping in again.

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your dear ones. What a difficult two years you must have had. I'll be praying that, as time moves on, your heart will be comforted with the peace that comes from trusting Christ.

Thanks for sharing your projects with us; that's some very creative work, and a unique style! How many hours do you typically invest in a project like this from start to finish?

KT is glad to see you back in here, Bernie. Sorry to hear of your loss, and I pray you are carrying on. Wonderful projects you have been doing! Truly labors of love!
Thanks I am doing OK. I inherited my sons black and tan. Noticed she was kind of fat after he died she had nine puppies . They were mixed with a black lab. Did manage to get rid of eight. I had one solid black male that I could not get rid of. So now he is in the house with me along with three other dogs lol. keeps me busy keeping the house cleaned up from the mud when they go out.Did manage to go out do a little Civil War metal detecting Friday. Found a few bullets and one 1890 Indian head penny. this site is located around in an old flour Mill accounts for the coin. Also found two thimbles and some miscellaneous buttons.

You’re welcome I enjoy taking old things and see what I can make out of them. Depends on how fast I work lol never really have time myself. Usually sandblast all metal parts about 2hr. Inserting all of the 2 inch round maple pieces takes several hours. run all the boards through a planer so probably 30 or 40 hours.
