How many harmonica reeds and squeeze box/accordion reeds have you found? I should also mention toe taps and heel plates.

I've found a few, seems like only the older places have them. I detect a lot of 1930s-50s yards and can't think of ever finding a harmonica reed in one of them.

In a NF, depending on your area, you may want to do some nugget detecting as well if you are in a gold bearing area.
** EDIT ** Didn't realize that local laws could prohibit prospecting in a NF... too used to being out west I guess.

I like to think that distinguishing a previously unnoticed historical site would be pretty obvious... ie you find a LOT of things
that are in a very small area, you find a things that have no business being in the area you found them, or you find old human
remains.

Actually that sounds kind of like a possible crime-scene too.

Dang, nothing (specific) for Michigan.

Yup. Leave it to the east coast guy : He goes out and hunts a 1940s school. But does he find 1940s coins ?? NNEEEOOOooooo, he finds a frickin LC !

none yet but everyone else is clearing the ground of them .... first half of the 1900's was the end of generations of people carrying a harmonica around the normal thing to do .Now everyone is zombie like with digital devices instead in their hands yet younger generations are getting dumber even with all the information at their finger tips .
