I had a chance to get out and test my "cup cake" sized coil today on the f2. First I'll say it was very differant from my 11' DD coil. For the first time the f2 remained silient for the most part of the hunt. The 4 inch allowed me to max the sensitivity for the afternoon. Signals where shallow but steady and had a more crisp short tone than the larger coil. The swing turned into short right and then short left covering about 6 feet before moving forward. I dug every solid target getting most of the same as my 11 inch coil. All of the iron signals from 04-08 where nails and small scrap.I came across a solid 10 iron and pulled this ring, it's a junk ring but was found. So far I will say Ilike the 4 inch coil but it does lack the depth of the DD coil. This is a large swimming area at the lake that might take the small coil to get the find. While the water is low I'll search it hard with everything I have.
