These were dug at the best site I ever found! A virgin site that was either started in 1660, or 1719. It was the home of a very wealthy land owner, and I know their last name, but will never reveal it as it would be a huge clue! Well over a 200 relics found. Including the find of a lifetime! A 24th regiment of foot cartridge pouch plate. The 24th final battle was in bennington Vt, and the prisoners were held in Rutland Mass. About 60 miles away. I have seen these buttons dug before, but never seen one with the enamel intact except for these. Almost got the whole coat. These were found of a very large area, over a matter of years.

Ah yes Burgoynes army, did alot of reading about them. I've done alot of hunting in Rutland, no artifacts remotely close to those though. Great finds!
Absolutely! Its funny I had this area on my radar before even got my first machine. I was very close to finding this site 9 years ago, and literally walked right by it without noticing, but I knew somewhere in the area that land owner lived. I will never find another site like it! Found another 1803 draped bust there that is even nicer than one I dug last week, rev war cuff links, and much much more! And I am going back soon...
