Is Beach Mode (I have a Nokta Triple Score) only for saltwater beaches and not freshwater beaches?

The manual refers to salt in the sand so it would appear beach mode is for saltwater beaches but I wanted to check to see if other factors in beach sand would require beach mode.

Beach modes on these latest simultaneous multi frequency detectors have salt filtering and compensation built into their beach modes and it can’t be turned off. I use park or field modes and pick the quietest SMF setting like M1 or M2 for freshwater beaches and ground balance carefully.

I see people using Nokta's Legend and Score models on YouTube at freshwater sites using Beach modes with all iron rejected and they still find stuff. But they are making small gold jewelry and small gold chains really hard to find with those settings since the built in salt compensation and rejecting iron make ferrous/nonferrous borderline target IDs really hard to detect. For me, if I am at a freshwater lake looking for gold jewelry, especially small or possibly poorly oriented gold jewelry, I am using Park or Field M1 or M2, A or G discrimination pattern, iron filter on a lower setting and I am paying close attention to any target IDs between 10 and 40 for gold jewelry and anything higher with a coin sized footprint for silver jewelry. I use the same at saltwater beaches in dry sand sometimes too.
