Anyone Pay for their detectors?

I've always been intrigued by air rifles & pistols. What is your highest muzzle velocity rifle?
Air rifles are a different creature. Break barrel spring guns have to be held a certain way or the accuracy goes out the window. PCP air rifles can be shot just like a regular rifle with pinpoint accuracy. You can achieve that with the break barrel, but you have to pay attention to how you're holding it and know your rifle.

With all that being said, I keep my pellet speed below 920 ft per seconds. I have had a couple rifles I could shoot up to 980 FPS without issues. The problem is with Diablo pellets, once you get over 920 ft per second they start to destabilize and you begin to lose accuracy. With my current rifle tuned to shoot Diablo shaped pellets in 22 caliber, at 50 yards I can have the pellets touching each other. The two rifles I currently have is the Seneca Aspen and the Avenger in .22. I can tune them both to shoot faster, but I like killing squirrels at 50 yards with one shot to the head.

I looked at the TR50, .50 cal, as a possible CCW a few years ago. I'm surprised to see that Glock & Sig make air pistols.

Still a newbie, into year 3, only sold one item, but.......probably have my nox 800 1/2 paid....and yes...no beaches guys, so toughing it out.

You know, to me it's just fun. The other hobby I have is shooting PCP air rifles. That is all about fun and no recouping of your cost ever.
If your lucky, you can break even on buying and selling your airguns.

Every time you pull the trigger, you send lead down range. You're literally shooting money out the end of a barrel when you think of the cost of pellets and pressure rechargeing systems.

I like the fact that this hobby, instead of throwing money down, I'm picking it up. Seems like a better hobby to me now.

Don't get me wrong, my airguns ain't going no where. I hunt with them. I just thinned the air rifle heard and sold a couple to make room for the Nokta Legend and initial setup cost of the hobby.

Now, I can shoot game and shoot coins and jewelry also.
You will find it difficult to decide which hobby to spend your time with... :P
It's been like that for me with fishing. Maybe once my freezer gets bare I'll
switch back to fishing more actively :)

It's probably not that easy for the casual user who only hunts a few times per year, but I bet most of the regulars on this forum who are hardcore hunters have found plenty enough to pay for multiple detectors.... and even some other toys. :)

I purchased this with some finds I sold about 10 years ago.

Nice!

I bought a 1982 Collectors Edition Vette with gold I sold from detecting. I'm a classic car buff. I also had bought one of every top-end detector made at the time.
