Hi Diggers,
I was detecting a section of woods just above a village founded in 1260 and got a screaming signal only about 3 inches deep. I figured it was just another .50 cal shell casing but dug it anyway. What a SHOCK to see a bronze spur come out of the hole! A little bit research and showing it to the local archaeologist and it's been identified as an 11th or 12th century spur. Some call them "Crusader spurs" but I don't know how anyone could ever verify that. It is one of my favorite relics for sure. Here's some pics and thanks for looking.
