So take it to a shop and have it welded or do it yourself if your a good welder.
They are supposed to be made out of chrome moly steel, about as hard as you can get. Dang did you stick it in something and stand on it BS . I cannot imagine breaking either of mine. Also one question, do you clean it after each trip? If not it will corrode and pit which could be leading to a failure. I wash mine each time I get home and then spray them with G96 gun treatment. They will not corrode with that on them no matter what.
Thanks Dan, I just ordered one.
Never heard of a Lesche cracking! Need a pic if possible!
I posted some pictures. I really hate this because now I have nothing to dig with. I may try that digger, Dan. Is it really as good/better than the lesche? For $20 I'd be willing to try one.
I've had tools like yours before & bent them too.....
Kellyco use to sell the one pictured below but not sure if they do anymore.
If you can get one of these ( below )........you'll never bend it.
Good luck...........see ya yardhunter
My Hori Hori knife is way stronger than a Lesche. I love it!
This is from the other post... "I contacted customer service at WW Manufacturing in New Jersey and they instructed me to return the defective unit and they would be happy to replace it. It was that easy, no fuss, no muss, no hassles, just great customer service. I didn't even ask them if they would replace it and was not expecting them to since I had used it well for nearly a year. I just wanted them to see it." Seems to me that the manufacturer stands behind the product. In order to have that same design for so many years and replace them with no questions asked.... You'd kinda think that they don't receive a huge amount of them back in order to replace like that. I'd contact them. I've used some real stinkers of diggers and none has compared to the lesche for durability. If you look at the other link in this thread it looks like both of them broke at the same spot. Perhaps a weakness in design at that point. I'd call them.. what could it hurt. better than buying a new one!
Here's my Hori Hori knife I use. I beat the hell out of it. Prying rocks and roots and all kinds of stuff!
bonesquat, I am sorry to read about your Lesche problem. We are a strong believer in Lesche Tools! We would like to offer to replace your Lesche for you at No Charge no matter where you originally purchased it. Contact me with your info.
I thought the lesche had a lifetime warranty.
My lesche has slightly bent but not enough to affect performance.
