Gold rings #31 & #32 for the year, Plus #33 #34 #35, And #36 & #37

didn't know there was such a thing as 15k-only you would be able to find it. way to go

It was a legal standard of gold in British jewellery between 1854 and 1931.
It was actually discontinued in England as a gold standard in 1932 with Commonwealth member countries soon following.

Nice old gold OBN! Excellent clean up job too! Congrats!

Thanks Slimpick! I do enjoy cleaning most of the treasures, but I just throw away the crusty pennies.

Man congrats on the double golds!
Thank GS! Been a year of alot of singles golds, this hunt just happened to get lucky with two.

Congrats on the loot. Any idea what a barber half would have bought back in 1899? Would that be like losing a $50 or $100 in today's currency ?
Thanks Steve! Just a guess but I would say what 20plus dollars is now.
WTG Joe. Always look forward to your posts.
Thanks Frank, Hope you are well my friend! Never forget my visits there with you guys!

:dingding:Great hunt! Looks to me that if you got that in one hunt you need to head back soon again.
Thats Felix, I am with you on ASAP..looks like Early tuesday visit is on order!

Great finds again Joe .. good to see your back in business again.
Thanks Meg! Lets hope, things change so fast you just never know..

That seems to be an awesome hunt with a buddy. Nice going sir!
Thanks Chumly, it was a good time. Just glad Scott got yellow. He seems to get discouraged when he goes with out for awhile.

Another great hunt!
Thanks Charly! Love this spot but it is tuff!

I have seen it before but not found by me..

Thanks Meg, this place was big time in the early 1900's, died in the late 30's and 40's but came back to life in the 60's to 80's..but now no longer used.

15K is so unique! I just love that ring! congrats Joe!
Thanks CD! I agree, one that will never see the melters.

Wow, those are some fantastic rings! Sweet class ring and a 15K, wow...thats a first to see for me.
I gotta say, I just love the spots you have to pull some serious history. I have a one like as well but it hardly yields anything until its well and ready. Which is usually not that often.
I hope you hit that spot again and again...good luck and nice finds.

Couple of really nice ones there, including that old class ring one. Congrats!

Another great hunt Joe... did you make a video of this hunt?

I went from drysuit to wetsuit, so I stopped doing video since the battery pack was in the drysuit.

Absolutely amazing! You beach pirates are money!
I've dug a lot of gold rings and never have I said this was a gold ring. Most are so deep that they will not give a signal in discriminate, but I continue to dig for you just have the feeling there is gold here and I'm going to find it.

Obn

Any advantages with a wet suit , over a dry suit, i have - like 5 wet, they havn't been on since, since i had to ask my neighbor to pull the wet suit over my shoulder to get it off , never will forget that one  howboutit ? Ps the 7 mil is black and yellow, a shark magnet  i am glad you took my Excal green machines of my hands , with the green machines , yellow headphones , with a yellow wet suit , i wont get another father & son telling me , look dad it's a Allien :laughing::laughing::laughing: almost a fight that day

After a fail the last trip to this spot I was able to get back and put to use what I learned after getting rushed out with a incoming Lighting storm. Only had about 40 minutes time in the water but that was enough to tell me get back, ASAP.

Saturday was the day...Third target of the day, my first ever 15k gold ring, about 2 hours later came a badly stained 1951 class ring. Working the cut I was able to score a few silvers but the bay is very harsh on silver, so not much value left in them. 1899 Barber Half was the best of the silvers. Hope to get back to this spot this week and see if the strong north winds coming have moved the sand a little more.

Figure this my hunting partner Scott found his 4th gold ring of the year, what are the chances of it being the year he was born and the schools name same as his..Scott HS.

Great finds, OBN! Amazing find on the old-school 15K. That's a tough one to come across, these days.

And for your friend. 100% odds that he would find it. Of course, the probability of him finding it in the future? MUCH LESS. LOL

Thanks for the posts. I always love to see what you're finding, and the fact you're running into 110+ year old stuff is just amazing...
