Nox Upgrade!!!

Just saw this and did updated mine...pretty easy for even a tech challenged person like me. Only took maybe three minutes including the download app. might get an hour or so tomorrow to test, if not, it will be this weekend.

A big thanks to BCD for posting this!!:hi5:

Updated both my 600 & 800. Will test on Friday after the heat and humidity break. It's too hot for this old dog to go out hunting.

We complain in the south about the heat in the summer. But up in OH, IN, PA you guys have the hot summer (maybe not as long as we do) but you also have cold snowy winter. Our winters are generally not bad for metal detecting. the ground may freeze in late Jan but for the most part not bad. Just wish we had old parks and neighborhoods with silver coins. Those are rare in north Atlanta. Most neighborhoods were built after 1964 and really after 1970 - 80.

The struggle... it is real... And don't forget about the rock hard red clay. You do find a good spot, getting more than 6" deep requires a back hoe.

Well I was out with my EQ800 at a local park this morning before the heat set in and found a few nickels and a couple Wheaties. Once the temp hit 85 I packed it in.
Upon arriving home I check in FMDF and saw this post and immediately downloaded the update on both my units. Now I just had to wait until it cooled down to try this out. I made it about an hour and said to heck with it, 95 degrees and I went down to the exact same spot I detected this morning. I could still see my tracks in the grass so I followed the same path in the same direction just to see if the performance was any better.
About 15 minutes into the hunt I get a 24-26 with 4 arrows showing, I gig a plug and at around 8" a 1892 Barber dime pops out! I followed that up with a couple more Wheaties and a shell casing at near 10".

The only set back that I could see is my pin point does not seem as loud or as accurate as it did before the update. I will be curious to see if anyone else experiences this.

I agree with the loud part-being quieter.
Not nearly as head rattling.

give it a few minutes. Depending on your internet connection speed it may take a few minutes.

My Macbook simply does no beginning of any download. No spinning dial, no sign of a progress bar. I took a nap since posting, over two hours. It just an't happening on my Apple.

Strangely, I tried e-mailing Minelab to their North American address. Those attempts bounced, undeliverable.

Just ain't my day.

Try Chrome not Safari. Apparently there is a problem with Safari.

I got'r done with Firefox. I quick tested the Franklin on edge and that is much better. It will be interested to run it in the daylight tomorrow. Curious if the low conductors will still hit the same in Park1 now, or was there a bit of a trade off.

Mine is not working. Followed instructions to the letter, tried everything - it just says "not responding". Windows 7. I do know how to run computers.

Mine did that with windows 10. With Nox I took update cable off of detector (with Nox ON), and reattached and then my computer recognized Nox.

I repeated this again even after I updated my unit hours later.
Same thing happened as noted above. Except here after recognizing my detector, with some time lapsing, my computer screen said no update necessary.

That happened to me--would not detect Nox and app stopped running. After closing app, I then right clicked on the .exe file and selected "Analyze compatibility" (or something like that), and let it choose and run in Windows XP mode, and it worked.

Well Minelab has surprised me. An update! Wow! Now the Nox is tied with the CTX for updates. Keep it up Minelab! Make a very good detector better. Now please work on that crown bottle cap ID.

By the way.....A very smooth update for me and Windows 10. Nice job on that.

That's where I keep clicking. Nothing happens.

I got mine updated, but it wouldnt go in windows 7, I had to run it in compatibilty mode and windows xp, then it took right off and was done in like 2 minutes

I updated mine today and then took it out for a short while. So far I havent really noticed anything different except pennies reading like clad dimes and clad dimes reading like silver dimes. :?:

I dug two pennies at 25-26 consistent ( no others dug ) and two clad dimes 26-27 consistent ( no others dug )......normally they have been known to bounce that high at times but not consistently.
