I bought a 1220 Fisher to make into a wading detector.Friend tried to do me a flavor soldering 9 volt wires together, and fried a cap..I sent the detector to Sven who is going to Canada, and didn't have time to work on it..He thinks one wire was soldered to the speaker?????? I thought about buying another 1220,to see if I could compare wires, then make into a wader.Very few come up for sale... Other idea is to use my Silver UMax , put the electronics into a plastic box and use that with a 5.75 inch coil..I want a coil out on a stick since there are some serious drop offs, and warning is nice..I don't like the idea of splicing into my coil wires to get 7 feet.Nor do I want to spring for a new U/W detector on wishes of what might be there...Cordially Nad
