So I found this shovel at a yard sale for 2 bucks. I Just had to mod it ! First I cut about 6 " off the tip and reshaped it into a point .I then cut a few notches on each side of the shovel. The original handle was plastic and off set . I wanted ta handle that was straight in line with the shaft and blade. Next I cut the handle shorter and left the wood long enough thet I could file it down to accept a new handle. I made the new handle out of flat bar that I bent in a bench bender and some 1 1/2 tubing,an 3/4 tubing. I riveted the handle in place along with a slight coating of gorrilla glue between the wood and the new handle. Sprayed the shovel with some left over Rustolem Hammered spray paint. The total lenght of the shovel is now 31",

Nice mods! I'm thinking of trying something similar....gotta find a cheap shovel somewhere though. :D
