I have just read through all the threads on the forum regarding the Profind. Aside from not vibrating as hard as the Garrett and maybe not being quite as sensitive, many folks have said they interfere with their machines (mostly the MXT).

Does anyone swinging a Fisher use the Profind? Reactions? I'm strongly considering one but I don't want it to throw my detector into cardiac arrest every time. :D

There is also that Vibra Quatic one, submersible to 100 feet and makes NO noise, only vibrate. That one seems worth considering, too.

Hmm, White's seem to be hit the hardest for interference, which is somewhat surprising to me.

i had the vibra probe 560 and it made my AT pro got nuts

The propointer can freak out some tesoros. My pistolprobe can freak out my DFX depending on what frequency i'm running. You can wrap a headphone wire around some cellphones and freak some machines out.

By the way. This is one advantage a pistolprobe has over other pinpointers. Your propointer acting up? You may have to shut your detector off.

Pistolprobe frequency control
The frequency control is used only if other electronics are
interfering with the probe (constant noise). Some multifrequency
detectors can cause interference. If you have electrical
interference, turn the frequency knob in either direction, then
readjust threshold control. You may have to experiment with the
frequency adjustments until you are not getting inference. In this
setting, volume is set at HI.
