Heard of these?

Searched a bit and found some references to "Brinkmann treasure sensor xxxx" series detectors. Looks like something from early 80's or so. It will probably detect something but don't expect too much from it. And definitely do not pay much. My guess is that even the current cheapest models from well known makers are better than this one..but this is just my guess.

Brinkmann was a department store brand in the 80's. They weren't any good then and, unlike wine, age hasn't made them any better.

I think a manufacturer that made cheap detectors (First Texas perhaps) made a lot of inferior machines in the 80's with different "brand names." They sold them to different chains that wanted to sell detectors.

By using different names, they made it harder for buyers to compare brands.
